This might sound silly but does anyone know what it feels like to have your waters broken ? Does it feel like you’ve peed your self or a gush of water ? I’m just wanting to know what to expect when it does happen 😅 or does it feel different for everyone?

Unlike movies/tv it doesn't have to break before you go into hospital or contractions to begin. I had contractions & went into hospital & was 7cm dilated but water still didn't break until they checked again & accidentally broke it lol by then I was on epidural & felt like I peed. I'm sure it's different for everyone just keep that in mind ☺️

I broke waters when I was at 10cm dilatation during waterbirth. I was already in the pool when it happened and just remember a big POP like a champagne bottle opening ahahaha. That was my first experience with it.

Very variable. Had them break once on their own and it felt like I was wetting myself except (if this makes sense), I knew I wasn’t.
Also had them broken by the midwife when they were bulging out to try to speed up labour and it felt like a big jug tipped out everywhere.

It varies. With mine there was a pop and a big gush. I was actually on the toilet (Luckily!) so my first thought was that it was just a really powerful wee 😂 but then I couldn't stop it like you can a wee. Then after the initial gush it continued to leak gradually.

Mine never "broke" it just felt like a balloon had popped and a small trickle of liquid that was it

I had the movie pop and gush, I rolled over in bed and felt/heard a pop followed by a load of water. Was no way it could be anything else.
I have friends where their hind waters went first, so they didn’t know/realise for a few days.

Your waters are supposed to break only when in active labour, it’s not like how they show it on TV for most cases.
However, I have a connective tissue disorder which means my waters can break early and they both did with my last two. First, it was like a leaking for three days beforehand and he came early, second was a small gush when I got out of bed in the night, nothing more then just like wetting myself amount, but you know the difference.

With my 1st I woke up to a wet bed at 4am, stood up and there was a massive gush. My 2nd my waters didn't break at all until she was coming out😊

I had mine broken with my first. It was quite a gush but didn’t notice so much as was lying on the bed. With my second they broke on their own whilst standing in the hospital and was a definite gush!

I didn’t really feel anything with either or mine. The broke naturally with my first during the night and the midwife broke mine in labour with my second. Both were a big gush and I could only tell because of the massive puddle really.

Mine broke at 10cm in the birthing pool, felt like a huge balloon pop. Couldn’t miss it!

Mine broke at home, but it was more like a trickle, no pop or gushing as such. It initially felt like whenever I went for a wee, I needed to stay on the loo extra few mins as I’d have a bit more of a trickle. Over the course of the day, it got more and more and then at one point it felt like I had an uncontrollable wee so I sat on the loo. I’d had a pad on which got wet and when I rang triage even then I was unsure whether it was my waters or did I wet myself 🤣 so I got asked to come in with my pad so they could check. Wasnt like the movies at all for me. Also wearing a pad is good idea as the nurses said your waters will have a sweet smell rather than a “wee” type smell

My first broke when I stood up from sleeping at night. So like I didn’t specifically feel anything before it happen I just stood up and it gushes. My second was after I was in labor for a while and had an epidural right before giving birth so I didn’t feel anything . They just told me

Has anyone moved their baby from the bassinet to the pram seat yet? I know it says 6 months but depending on head/ neck strength. Wondering how early this can be done. My LO has bad reflux and hates the bassinet so being able to move from the bassinet to the seat would probably help her a lot!

Hi,
Might be a silly question but I'm a ftm and my baby is 4 weeks, me and my mum are going to a garden centre and want to take the baby, my question is, is that okay?
Did anyone else take their baby out at 4 weeks?

I know its not necessarily an indication of labour but has anyone lost the mucus plug close to their due date and then gone on to labour? I'm 39+5 today and woke up to what I think is my mucus plug after going to the loo! I'm really hoping its a sign of things as I'm so ready for this baby to be here now 🤞🏻
