Hi ladies,
I’ve got a question — are there any mums on here who have previously had an elective C-section and could guide me through the appointments you had leading up to your actual surgery date?
I’ve currently been attending my usual consultant appointments. At my most recent one, I signed some paperwork, collected my prescription for the medication I’ll need to take before the big day, and had my MRSA screening swabs done. I was then “discharged” from the appointment the same day.
However, I still have two more appointments booked in. I have no idea what the next one is for, so I was wondering if anyone might know what to expect or what it could be for?
I know the final appointment is the day before surgery and that’s for things like blood tests, a urine sample, blood pressure checks, etc.
Would really appreciate hearing what your experience was and what appointments you had leading up to your C-section. 🩷 x

I have got a c section booked for the 7th and I have had none of these appointments 😱🤔🫤 x

Leading up to the sections (had two), I had a scan around week 36 for growth and then the preop booked 2/3 days before.
That’s just final bloods for cross match (they order blood in for you if needed), urine test, swabs, consent forms, arrival instructions. Literally 10 mins 😊

Mine is booked for next Wednesday (7th). I’m going to the hospital tomorrow just for final bloods and urine test etc. I’ve had a growth scan at 35 weeks. Now I’m 37+5.

One is group and save bloods, urine and BP, one is swabs and then talk through what happens on the day.

I’m in Sheffield - having my second elective this week (7th). I’ve got to go in to do bloods the day before and then I’ve got a phone call appt booked with the anaesthetist the day before. Think from what I remember last time is they just went through what to expect and when you have to stop eating/when to go in etc. Hope it all goes smoothly and you have a really positive experience like I did for my first 🙏🩷

I’m booked in on the 7th I’ve had a phone call from the anaesthetic team and that’s it other than 2 calls with my consultant my pre op is Tuesday morning. This is my 3rd section 1 emergency 1 planned then this planned x
Really happy to say my baby has arrived safely after an incredible home birth. I'm so pleased to have gotten my home birth with my second child. The difference post birth is truly magical.
My 5 year old daughter was there to witness her baby brother come in the world. I had a lovely hot bath in the evening and we all laid on the sofa for the remainder of the day and watched strictly before heading to bed.
The birth overall was fast at 6hrs 30 mins. Although at the time it felt long and very intense.
Happy to share any further details on my birth as I know how much birth stories helped me when I was planning my home birth as I was outside of guidance with risk of PPH.

I stupidly did the sneak peek gender test at 7 weeks before I even had my first ultrasound. It says I’m having a girl. I have two boys currently. I’ve had a miscarriage before and I’m so worried this ultrasound is going to show something that isn’t a viable pregnancy. I feel like I know in my core that everything is OK but I have that nervous feeling of the unknown as well. I’m 8 weeks today. Idk why I’m posting lol I’m just so nervous.

Do you believe that you keep dreaming about a certain person for a reason ?

my csection was 10 months ago and since then ive had so many problems with my stomachs, ive had constant diarrhoea and rarely have a normal stool, and i keep getting gastritis (i think) and when i get this its so painful i ended up at a&e the first time because i didnt know what it was and the pain was unbearable for me. between that and the diarrhoea which has made me have a number of accidents (embarrassing) i have found it hard to enjoy motherhood at times because its all started after her birth.
just wondering if anyone eles has had this and what they have done to help. ive got some meds from the doctors for the gastritis and got a test coming up for the constant diarrhoea but im at a lost because everything i eat seems to set one of them off.
