Any tips on how to create a more functional sleep routine with a newborn? My 2 week old son has been giving us absolute HELL at nighttime and a perfect sleepy little angel during the day. At night he wakes up roughly every hour or sometimes less and STRUGGLES to go back to sleep. Whereas during the day he can snooze for a solid 2-3 hours and usually has no issue going straight back to sleep. This pattern has definitely been taking its toll on us & I would love any advice!

I tried swaddling my little girl and she slept like an angel. However, with a 2 week baby, you should expect them to wake up every 2 hrs. I must also add that it definitely is difficult to set a routine so early as they are not use to the outside environment. But I also tried creating a quiet dark environment at night and exposing my baby to bright sunlight during the day just to give her an idea if night and day time. All the best mum 😘

Bath time before bed we only use soap 1/2 time a week other then that its just a warm water wash helps her settle her gas and calm her down for the night we do it at the same time

Day-night swapping is very normal early on. They don't have any concept of night or day. It helps to keep night waking very quiet - little to no light, soft voices, no loud activity. During daytime, sunlight, play, activity, tummy time. Morning sun also helps regulate circadian rhythm. Around 8-10 weeks, they start producing their own melatonin which helps regulate the day-night cycle - before that, they are just relying on yours.

What worked with me and my baby dad - I ended up taking the night ”shift” from 9pm-4am with our girl and dad took 4am until whenever I woke up and then we’d eat dinner together, and he would nap when she would nap if he was tired during the day it’s not ideal and some people really don’t like this method but slowly and surely she started to sleep at night for a couple hours, into 3 and 4, to keep myself up at night and make sure she got some sleep, I’d let her contact sleep while listening to podcasts and watching Netflix on my phone, slowly over the nights I’d transfer her to bassinet and would take naps while she slept. It’s probably not the answer you want, but the early days truly are survival, and that’s how I found we both enjoyed our time during the newborn stage
My 3.5 month old fights sleep during the day SO BAD… even if I’m holding him he refuses to sleep, then gets overtired and is inconsolable.. anyone else dealing with this? Any tips? I keep questioning if something is wrong, but we quite literally have done everything.. he is on Pepcid for reflux, alimentum for CMPA, got lip/tongue ties released.. *but he will sleep at night without issue*

We’ve recently moved our toddler to a single bed with a duvet for the first time. She’s manages to stay under the duvet for the first 4 hours then doesn’t have the duvet on. Currently she’s at the other end, on top of the duvet.
Will she eventually stay under?

Hi everyone. My baby is 7 weeks old, and I’m really struggling with breastfeeding at the moment. 💔
I had a C-section, and because of that I wasn’t able to breastfeed him for the first week. We gave him formula initially, and when I started trying to breastfeed, he refused to latch.
I’ve tried so hard to breastfeed him and have had multiple sessions with the feeding team, but unfortunately nothing seemed to work. I changed his bottle to Philips Avent about 2 weeks ago, and yesterday I tried breastfeeding again. To my surprise, he latched really well! I was so happy and thought we had finally made progress.
But today, when I tried again, he just screamed and refused to latch. I honestly don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
People around me have told me that I should let him cry because eventually he will latch. I tried that yesterday, but he was crying so hard that I had a complete mental breakdown. Seeing my baby so distressed made me cry badly too. I don’t feel comfortable making him cry just to get him to breastfeed.
I’m also exclusively pumping at the moment and trying to pump every 2–3 hours to maintain my milk supply. It is honestly exhausting, and sometimes I’m in so much pain and emotionally drained that I end up crying.
I’m trying my absolute best to give my baby only breast milk, but this whole journey has been much harder than I ever imagined.
Has anyone else experienced something similar, where their baby sometimes latches well but then suddenly refuses the breast? What helped you? I would really appreciate any advice or experiences. ❤️

Baby is turning 7 months old this week and shakes his head left and right quite quickly for 5-10 seconds. He does it a few times a day while playing and sometimes makes his usual shouting/ babbling sounds while doing it. I have read it could be for soothing but also (along with other things), is an early indicator of autism and I'm spiralling! All other development (sitting up, babbling/ making noise, name recognition) is as expected. Does anyone one else's baby do this?
