Flying after week 27

Hello there! Has anyone flown after week 27? I’m planning on going away for a weekend at week 29. But since this is my first pregnancy, does anyone know the exact rules? 💕

I think its after 28 weeks you need a fit to fly letter though god knows if an airline would think to ask. Especially in todays day and age they're probably too scared to ask if you're even pregnant. I flew a couple of weeks ago I would have been 26 weeks and no-one said a thing to me and flying was fine other than the huge man manspreading nexto me. I think officially airlines say no after 36 weeks. Hope you have a nice flight.

Me!
Ryanair on the way asked for my fit to fly it's not about size it's about risk of giving birth.
Easyjet on the return home did not ask x

I was 30weeks

Check the airline information about this, thats the best option, doesnt hurt to ask for a fit to fly too if your worried xx

Thanks so much everyone! So if I have a fit to fly form when I’m 29 weeks, it should be fine?

Im guessing if youre going for a weekend its not long haul as the rules may be different for long haul. Don't forget your compression socks which you apparently can get for free just ask your midwife a friend of mine informed me. X

Most airlines require to have a doctor note from 28 weeks so you’d definitely need one. Even earlier I’d ask the midwife for one just in case. I think I was only 24-25 weeks when I last traveled in pregnancy but was huge so I had a bit of an argument at the gate as they didn’t believe me I was under 28 and didn’t need a note

Check their policies as some of their staff members are so stupidly annoying. I flew with wizz both ways. Outbound - nice people, no issues, i said i am 27 weeks, didn't even want to see my paper. Inbound - they literally made me cry (same company). They asked for my paper, they were so stupid, they didn't want to accept the paper because it didn't say how many weeks i was pregnant at the date the paper was released (but it did say when i was due but the lady said she won't start calculating the weeks for me and it should say on the paper), and the paper should not have been older than 1 week before the travel day. Which in my situation was frustrating as i was gone for 12 days, so their policy would have had me have a scan in the country i traveled? STUPID. Eventually they made me sign a consent form. ALL THAT easily sorted with a consent form. I was so frustrated

Might be an idea to check your travel insurance to check you're covered and to run it by your midwife/consultant.

It really depends on the airline, but would have a fit to fly letter just in case! I flew at 28 weeks to Greece and again at 30 weeks to Dublin and wasn’t asked to produce a letter but at least had the reassurance in case. My midwife just advised me to stand/ walk up and down the plane regularly, wear compression socks (helps with any swelling), stay hydrated and don’t drink any caffeine on the flight. You know your body so if you feel ok then no need to worry ☺️

Oh and make sure you have travel insurance that covers pregnancy, and bring your hospital notes with you too. I travel for work so have been flying quite a lot during this pregnancy!

I am 30 weeks and currently on holiday.
I checked the airlines requirements and a fit to fly is recommended.
Midwifes do not do this anymore and my GP doesn’t either so I purchased one online with an online GP, they responded within 2 hours stress free for arrival and departure.
I am a low risk, single pregnancy and no health conditions.

Is baby okay

My 3 year old was bouncing on the bed and I was on my phone and he landed on the right side of my belly I’m 29 weeks and it didn’t hurt but felt like pressure and I haven’t felt any pain I have felt baby boy kick and move around but I just hope since I am in the 3rd trimester baby is okay? I did pray to god already and I’m just hoping that baby is okay. But I’m kinda worried

C-section booked for today and I’m so nervous

Woke up at 3.30am and I’m so nervous I can’t switch off again.

C-section was never my plan but baby is breech so we decided to go this route.

Can’t believe we’re going to meet our baby girl today 🥹 it’s also my second one so I sort of know what’s ahead of us and panicking about the postpartum 😅

Good luck to all of us mamas! 💕

Unexpected blessing

Never thought i’d be on these type of apps! I’m 31 and pregnant with my first. I’m 4 months now. I still can’t believe i’m pregnant. I’ve lived my life being told that i’d never be able to conceive naturally with PCOS and being overweight my whole life until about 3 years ago when I lost 85 pounds. And with my current partner of 1 year… BOOM i’m pregnant. I really accepted that i’d never be a mom and I was okay with it. But now that I’m pregnant, I’m so happy but scared at the same time! Anyone else on the same boat??

So jealous!

Seen a few ladies post in here about bhcg blood tests and it's making me jealous! Where in the UK is that a thing you can get?! In my county, you can only get it privately and I dont have the money for that. I know you can get it after recurrent miscarriages but I've only had 2 so they wont do anything.

I'm so scared things arent progressing as they should! Im 4+3.
