Is this fair or am I being emotional?

My son is a week and five days old, and I suggested that my boyfriend sleeps in the living room Sunday through Thursday because he works 12–14 hour days. On Friday and Saturday nights, he sleeps in the room with me to help, but honestly, he barely gets up for bottles or diaper changes. Most of the time, he just wakes up to keep me company, and sometimes when he does get up to get a bottle, he ends up falling asleep on the couch waiting for the bottle to finish warming up.
I know he works really hard and I’m genuinely grateful that he works so much so I can stay home with our son, and I don’t want him to feel like I don’t appreciate everything he does for us. At the same time, I’m exhausted and I feel like I need more actual help with the baby, not just company. I feel guilty even bringing it up because I know he’s tired too, but I’m also recovering and with a newborn and episiotomy stitches and I feel like I’m on the clock 24/7. Is it fair for me to ask him to sleep in the room and help even though he works or to just help more when he’s home or am I being too emotional about it? I’d really like to hear what other moms think. I also have a 17 week old puppy to take care of on top of everything 😓

No that’s not fair. My boyfriend works and still comes home and goes on baby duty. My baby is almost 4 weeks old and I just now have nights figured out with pumping and the baby sleeps longer stretches. I’m still exhausted and if I wake him up he will help. The first 2.5 weeks he was up every time I was. It’s not unreasonable and if he can’t help you need someone who maybe can come spend the night for a week just to help or come during the day

You probably will take on more of the baby care since you’re home, but being “more available” doesn’t make the baby solely your responsibility. You’re also recovering and essentially on call 24/7.
He doesn’t need to do every nighttime feeding or diaper change, but you could agree on a shift, like 3–5 AM, where he handles feeding, diapering, burping and soothing so you get uninterrupted sleep. And with a 17-week-old puppy, I’d definitely have him take over a set number of potty trips when he’s home. You can appreciate how hard he works while still needing him to parent when he’s home. ❤️

You should still talk to him about it. If you present it the same way you wrote this, there is no reason why he should get upset about it. It’s really tiring to wake up all the time, and you’re nice enough to give him his nights while he’s working. Keeping it for yourself will bring you resentment towards him

He may not know how to help also. I would talk to him and be clear on what you need help with. 💜

EYFS Nursery

Anyone encountered something in nursery that required some form of feedback or complain?

from what I’m reading, nurseries are supposed to meet individual baby needs and not make them follow nursery schedule.
But most time they said they tried, but never did and make baby follow their own time due to lack of staff.

For example when they r supposed to put baby to sleep or feed milk, they say they can’t (and tried) but in actual fact they have not tried. Inconsistent updates from different nursery staff as well.

I’m worried. If basic updates are inconsistent even. How are we even gonna be at ease when we send our babies there?

Challenging behaviour

I need help please! I am overwhelmed and sad. I am currently 17weeks pregnant with my second child amd my Son is 3 years and 10months old. He goes to nursery 3 days a week and over the past 6 months, he was said to have been exhibiting challenging behaviours such as hitting people, scratching and screaming when he is upset at nursery. He is different at home but when he's upset, he just cries at home. In nursery, he refuses to share toys or anything and hits at the slightest provocation. No one hits hum at hime so I don't know why he has developed such behaviours all of a sudden. His nursery manager has made us reduce his hours to 2 hrs 30 mins per day which is so tight for me as I work full time. I have tried talking to him, teaching him about safe hands and setting boundaries but nothing at all had changed, i don't know what else to do at this point. His dad (my husband) works far away and comes over the weekend, so there's only little that i can do. I need help please, any suggestions is welcomed.

Things to do on maternity leave

Has anyone got any suggestions of activities to do whilst on maternity leave?
We do swimming once a week and try to go to a play group as well as going for walks.
My LO is 8.5 months old and I’m getting fed up of being in the house as much as we are, so I’m sure my daughter is too!
We’re in Worcestershire area so any ideas/recommendations would be much appreciated 😊

Husband annoyed at our toddler for making a mess

My husband works and I’m a SAHM, and he was working from home today. Our 2-year-old was whinging and didn’t want to go out, even though I asked her so many times. So she was playing in the living room, and obviously it was a mess, toys all over the floor and some papers because she was drawing.

Then my husband came in and started telling our daughter off for whinging and telling her to be nice to me. He was also complaining about the living room being messy. Like, really?! We have a toddler! What is that attitude?!

I’m honestly so annoyed. And I was cooking while my toddler was playing, btw, and now I’m not even going to cook anymore.

Baby food pouches

Anyone using baby food pouches? I'm just wondering how bad they are as I had googled and it says it's not advisable to use these regularly. I find blending a small amount of food after steaming and pan frying them, takes so much effort and time if I do these by myself from scratch.
