Congratulations on your baby girl! Pumping can help build up your supply more and you can use the milk for purée foods later on down the line. You can also use pumped milk to give to baby if your nipples are ever sore.

There needs to be a removal of milk every 3-4 hours to keep your supply up for your baby. At the beginning, I would sleep in and not have a removal from 12am-6am and my supply decreased heavily so make sure you either have your baby feed from you or do a quick 10 min pump!

Be careful with pumping. Sometimes it give you a over supply and its when you get matistis .. if your midewife can relate you to the breastfeeding pro lady she will help you a lot . She helped me and still help me now 5 months later 3 babies later ! They are amazing ! Xx

If your milk supply is not low and your not worried about it absolutely not I used to pump day and night stopped the night it was too much waking up I would be so tired then stopped during the day really bc of work but my supply stayed

For me personally, I had to pump in the middle of the night. I was too engorged and I now don’t have an oversupply
I also work in the evening and only pump then. I exclusively breastfeed during the day when I’m with my kids.

I only get up to pump during the night once the fullness becomes too uncomfortable. If you’re exclusively breastfeeding and aren’t worried about creating a stash I would say only pump at night if needed to relieve the pressure

I tried pumping but it actually made the milk come more and it was exhausting so just stuck to giving it to bubba when she wanted it. But now she’s teething it is incredibly uncomfortable.
I feed her on demand but it’s seems like during the night she can go 2-3 hours between feeding . So should I try pump in the middle of the night? I try to pump first thing in the morning as well before her first feeding of the day
Also is it normal to hear her gulping/swallowing while feeding??
I have a 10 week old baby who will only sleep when held day or night. It’s ruining my mental health.
I spend hours every day trapped under him in silence with white noise that gives me a headache because I’m so sleep deprived. I feel stiff and sore. I feel lonely, bored and frustrated. Every attempt at transfer just fails. I have tried every trick in the book short of buying a snoo. He absolutely hates the carrier. I feel like a terrible mother because I’m supposed to be enjoying the snuggles. But they feel forced. I’m trapped until he wakes up for a feed and change. Only then I have literally 5 minutes to quickly go toilet or eat something- do a small chore. I have no one who can help and take the pressure off me. Friends are too busy 😢 There is no village so there is nobody to help. Family live far and are dysfunctional af so I can’t even go to them😭😭 We co-sleep, which I hate. I feel terrified I’m going to wake up and find him passed out. I thought I’d break the cycle and never make my son feel like he was difficult to love. But 10 weeks in, I’ve already failed. He’s not choosing to give me a hard time. He’s a baby who doesn’t know how to sleep alone and needs my help, and I’m struggling to meet this need. He has reflux and possibly colic too now which is making me even more sad for him and depressed. I’m not looking for practical advice on how to get him sleeping on his own. Trust me, I have tried every practical advice i have found online so far. I’m looking to vent and for similar stories or for advice on how to cope with the isolation of this mentally, or any words of comfort.
Please I’m desperate.
There seems to be no end in sight.
I don’t know how to carry on like this.

First time mama to a 1 month old perfect boy!🩵
For the first 3 weeks of his life doctors ignored me about his symtoms and suspected CMPA (cows milk protein allergy) because im a "first time worried mum" It took for him to start pooping blood for them to listen!
5/6 days into him having his allergy milk, 8/10 of his symptoms have cleared up& i have a happier more content baby!🤍

Has anyone experienced constipation with their formula fed LO? Mine is 4 weeks old and formula fed and the last few days he’s really struggling to pass any stools, and is straining and crying when he tries. Today he hasn’t gone at all. I’ve tried infacol which hasn’t helped. Any tips or advice would be really helpful, it’s horrible seeing him in pain.

Hi mamas! My LO is 12 weeks old - How much time should we be leaving between the last nap of the day and bedtime?

My girl was in size 4s (Sainsbury’s) but they weren’t holding anywhere near enough - but we’re still having loads of poo explosions with the size 5s (Tescos). What trick am I missing here?! 😅💩😭😱
