Weaning and feeding help!

Hi all, I have a 5 month and 3 week old! Planning to start weaning food next week however just need some advice with a couple things if anyone is able to help!

With food what is the recommendation with milk? Do we keep it the same for now?
How often do we feed her food? They say at the start it’s just trying food but when do you start giving them actual meals? And how do I know how to remove milk feeds? Or reduce?

Also formula help!! Baby is on kendamill, she takes approximately 210ml / 7oz 5 times a day.. is anyone in a similar position and how does this work in terms of upping milk or reducing feeds but higher intake? Her current plan is/
8:30 am first feed 7oz
12:30 second feed 7oz
4:30 third feed 7oz
8/8:30 fourth feed 7oz
11:30/12 fifth feed 7oz

Any advice would be AMAZING x

When I started introducing foods to my little one we did just morning for a week so just porridge or baby rice then I did morning and just before he went to bed the same porridge or baby rice and then after a week or two when they have adapted to having food as well as milk then I would give him some fruits or veg the pouches or homemade purée for now I would say leave the milk the same I did give my baby the milk and then the food because they need milk more than they need food at this age about six months I dropped a bottle and added a meal for my baby was weaning from four months but you will start to notice them picking food over milk. Obviously they still need milk so I just spread it out so I would still give them the milk then an hour later or an hour and a half later give them the food about seven months. I would drop another bottle or spread out the time between the bottles and add another meal, but it’s different for every child, but they will let you know when there ready x

Keep milk the same initially. Offer food ~30 mins-1hr after a bottle so they're not hungry/ too full. Some babies keep having same amount of bottles, some babies drop. Just observe

Start with 1 meal
Meat stock / bone marrow are good to start with

Things like avocado in a fruit feeder is also good

Download Solid Starts app. Use the free version and use the search function to search different foods. Also follow them on Instagram for tips.

You can choose to do purées / BLW / a mix of both.

I find a mix of both works best for me.

They advise increasing to 2 meals after a couple of weeks, then to 3 after another couple of weeks

I’m pretty sure you keep the milk the same for now and start to introduce food “for fun”
Are you planning on puree or blw?

I did blw and introduced it slowly so one bit of broccoli etc at first then did one meal a day for a month. Then two meals for a month then 3 meals. Think I gradually cut down the milk as we went along.

Baby will only sleep when held - it’s ruining my mental health

I have a 10 week old baby who will only sleep when held day or night. It’s ruining my mental health.
I spend hours every day trapped under him in silence with white noise that gives me a headache because I’m so sleep deprived. I feel stiff and sore. I feel lonely, bored and frustrated. Every attempt at transfer just fails. I have tried every trick in the book short of buying a snoo. He absolutely hates the carrier. I feel like a terrible mother because I’m supposed to be enjoying the snuggles. But they feel forced. I’m trapped until he wakes up for a feed and change. Only then I have literally 5 minutes to quickly go toilet or eat something- do a small chore. I have no one who can help and take the pressure off me. Friends are too busy 😢 There is no village so there is nobody to help. Family live far and are dysfunctional af so I can’t even go to them😭😭 We co-sleep, which I hate. I feel terrified I’m going to wake up and find him passed out. I thought I’d break the cycle and never make my son feel like he was difficult to love. But 10 weeks in, I’ve already failed. He’s not choosing to give me a hard time. He’s a baby who doesn’t know how to sleep alone and needs my help, and I’m struggling to meet this need. He has reflux and possibly colic too now which is making me even more sad for him and depressed. I’m not looking for practical advice on how to get him sleeping on his own. Trust me, I have tried every practical advice i have found online so far. I’m looking to vent and for similar stories or for advice on how to cope with the isolation of this mentally, or any words of comfort.

Please I’m desperate.

There seems to be no end in sight.

I don’t know how to carry on like this.

1 month old!

First time mama to a 1 month old perfect boy!🩵
For the first 3 weeks of his life doctors ignored me about his symtoms and suspected CMPA (cows milk protein allergy) because im a "first time worried mum" It took for him to start pooping blood for them to listen!

5/6 days into him having his allergy milk, 8/10 of his symptoms have cleared up& i have a happier more content baby!🤍

Constipation

Has anyone experienced constipation with their formula fed LO? Mine is 4 weeks old and formula fed and the last few days he’s really struggling to pass any stools, and is straining and crying when he tries. Today he hasn’t gone at all. I’ve tried infacol which hasn’t helped. Any tips or advice would be really helpful, it’s horrible seeing him in pain.

Nappy sizes?!

My girl was in size 4s (Sainsbury’s) but they weren’t holding anywhere near enough - but we’re still having loads of poo explosions with the size 5s (Tescos). What trick am I missing here?! 😅💩😭😱
