Hello everyone. This may sound extremely silly as I’m 35 weeks and it’s too late now but all of a sudden I have an overwhelming fear of giving birth , my mum laboured fast with me and my brother ( 3 hours from the first contraction to having him & 1 hour from the first contraction to having me )
I am utterly terrified I am 100% set on an epidural but if I labour fast like her by the time we get to hospital sit and wait to be assessed, wait for labour ward , wait for the doctor to be free ect ect . There mayyy boy be time . I’m utterly terrified it’s all I have been able to think about for days I go to sleep thinking about it I wake up thinking about it I’m even dreaming about it now .
I don’t really know what to do . I was offered an induction at 39 weeks for pgp and when I asked to talk to my midwife about it at my 34 week appointment( that another midwife made to discuss it ) she said no we will talk about it at ur next one wich is at 37 weeks 😩

my advice is to keep talking to the midwife, i was induced and it was due to GD however I got it moved forward due to my anxiety around it all. they want you to feel safe and they will do what is within their abilities to make sure that you do. definitely watch birthing vlogs! i watched sooo many before birth, and actually still watch some now, and i think that helped massively with my anxiety seeing lots of different ways it can go and how well it is all handled etc helped reduce the anxiety around it. Epidural wise, if you’re set on one make it clear and say you want one from the get go and once you’re in active labour they’ll get you one as quick as they possibly can. if you know now, ask asap as yes they can take a while depending on other happenings in the hospital xx

I was told to be induced at 39th-40th week. As I had absolutely no signs of labour at all. One day before my induction though, I had my midwife checkup appointment and the nurse did a sweep down there. She did a fantastic job, I ended up bleeding and I was already dilated to 0.5 cm. The following day I was already at like 1-2 cm so they didn’t need to induce me! As the following day I started getting contractions and ended up giving birth at almost 41.5 weeks.
So just hang in hun, considering you’re only at 35 weeks, you still have a few weeks of hope! You might go through the same experience that I did or you might even start getting contraction or your water might break anytime between now and the 40th week.
I’m not sure what country you’re in bc I vaguely know some countries don’t wait until the 41 week, depending on your situation.
Get the epidural, it really will put you at ease. I got it and really wasn’t painful at all! Social media just scares you about it all.

Both mine were fast. I was given a home birthing kit at home. We did have to ignore hospital advice with our first as they wanted to keep me at home and for me to have another bath when the contractions started minutes apart. Obviously it wasn’t painless however it was bearable without pain relief and afterwards was probably more painful ie sitting down and using the bathroom!

I cannot figure out how to drop the link 😅but you might like the podcast ND BIRTH
Potentially having my 2nd little boy today and I am so nervous. Any tips for recovery with a toddler. My partner is having 3 weeks off but I am quite worried about the initial 6 weeks period.

Hi! I have a few medical issues and the general advice from practitioners is to opt for a caesarean.
I’m just wondering how many weeks in advance I might know my date? I have an obstetrician appointment eight weeks before my due date, is it likely I might get my date signed off then?
Due date is currently 25th of December.
Thank you!

Ugh! I cannot stress it enough! The brain fog is insane and not something I can’t control 😟 I left my phone in Starbucks bathroom and thought I left it in the Ross changing rooms. Whole time I didn’t notice until I was asked about my phone!! Luckily it was still in the Starbucks bathroom but UGH! How do you make this stop??? I swear one day I might forget I have a baby! My son! Like I don’t know. This isn’t predictable and it just happens when it happens and I don’t notice until asked. Do any other mom’s experience this? What do you take or do?
