Hi! I have a few medical issues and the general advice from practitioners is to opt for a caesarean.
I’m just wondering how many weeks in advance I might know my date? I have an obstetrician appointment eight weeks before my due date, is it likely I might get my date signed off then?
Due date is currently 25th of December.
Thank you!

Hi! I was due 3/12 (last year) and got given the 28/11 and I found out on the 16th November x

I think it depends a lot on whereabouts you are. I'm in Liverpool, UK and I've been told I will be given a weeks notice (my due date is 22nd Dec). They have told me it will be between 39 and 40 weeks though.

For my first two sections I got the dates 2 weeks in advance, 3rd section I got the date a week before. (Change of trust policy).

I found out on the Friday night that my c section was on tge Tuesday the following week (Ipswich) x

I had a VBAC appointment at 23 weeks and they booked my date in then. Sheffield UK.

With my first i had an appointment at 36 weeks. Got a phone call during the week for the monday and then the night before with a time. He was born 12th december and due date was 28th december. Second was given date the week before he was born. He was born 17th june and was due 1st july. We wont go into the 3rd as that was a mess as i found out the day before but she was born 6th november and due the 6th december

I was due 12th dec and was given a choice of date. He was born 9th dec x
Usually if you plan it in advance the hospital staff can then book you in and ask you what you want to do (if there is a choice). I developed preclampsia and had other issues from 38 weeks so they were happy to keep my plan of 39+4 days unless something drastically changed.
I told my midwife around week 20 I wanted an elective c section. I then spoke with obstetrics because of underlying health problems, and rhey then booked me in to a routine blood test prior to op, usually done 2 days before
But again, depends on the trust and where you are

It really varies. I got my Date at 20 weeks

I didn't get a date until about 2 weeks in advance

Im in the Midlands UK, with my first i was told which week it would be in and then they confirmed the date the Monday week before when they finalised the theatre list.
With my second I also got told which week it would be but had to call on the Friday when I hadn't heard anything, there was an admin error and I was scheduled for the Tuesday but they never contacted me.

Following as i am currently waiting on my elective c-section date. Although not due until 4 Jan. (Im in Kent)
Potentially having my 2nd little boy today and I am so nervous. Any tips for recovery with a toddler. My partner is having 3 weeks off but I am quite worried about the initial 6 weeks period.

Hello everyone. This may sound extremely silly as I’m 35 weeks and it’s too late now but all of a sudden I have an overwhelming fear of giving birth , my mum laboured fast with me and my brother ( 3 hours from the first contraction to having him & 1 hour from the first contraction to having me )
I am utterly terrified I am 100% set on an epidural but if I labour fast like her by the time we get to hospital sit and wait to be assessed, wait for labour ward , wait for the doctor to be free ect ect . There mayyy boy be time . I’m utterly terrified it’s all I have been able to think about for days I go to sleep thinking about it I wake up thinking about it I’m even dreaming about it now .
I don’t really know what to do . I was offered an induction at 39 weeks for pgp and when I asked to talk to my midwife about it at my 34 week appointment( that another midwife made to discuss it ) she said no we will talk about it at ur next one wich is at 37 weeks 😩

Ugh! I cannot stress it enough! The brain fog is insane and not something I can’t control 😟 I left my phone in Starbucks bathroom and thought I left it in the Ross changing rooms. Whole time I didn’t notice until I was asked about my phone!! Luckily it was still in the Starbucks bathroom but UGH! How do you make this stop??? I swear one day I might forget I have a baby! My son! Like I don’t know. This isn’t predictable and it just happens when it happens and I don’t notice until asked. Do any other mom’s experience this? What do you take or do?

Just got my pregnancy pillow as I keep waking up on my back and just generally uncomfortable of a night time, but i'm struggling to see how a pregnancy pillow actually helps 😂 anyone else?
