Does your 10 week old have a routine?

My baby has no routine… I could not tell you what times he goes to bed and wakes up as everything is all over the place. Initially he was waking up every 2 hours for a feed/change then sleep/play. But now, he’ll drink abit of milk, fall asleep then wake up shortly again for more milk then again fall asleep… I don’t have set timings anymore.

Is there anything I can do to put a routine in place? Especially with nighttime to get him to sleep throughout the night?

What do you do and is it working?

Do you bath time in the morning or evening?

Just after ideas I can start implementing to get a routine. I’ve been way to easy going 😩🙈

I was the same! Still no set routine for day time, but we do bath time around 7.45/8pm, into pj's, milk with a story and then bed time.

I do milk (expressed into a bottle) bath and then breastfeeding after the bath, so far the past 5 nights my babies only woken for a feed once during the night, she doesn’t usually go in her next to me until around 9-10 pm though

She also has 5 ounces every 4 hours during the day (we have to do set times as she has to have Gaviscon in the expressed milk due to bad reflux)

Do it asap, start with establishing a nighttime routine between 7pm-9pm, things that will work for you and baby, we do small feed (I currently breastfeed), little chat/book, bath every night (use products every 3rd night), dry off, tummy massage as my boy has reflux, dress and swaddle and then another feed for the night (he usually falls asleep on the boob).

As for a daytime routine I wouldn't worry too much until week 12 but because I want him on a schedule I started using the huckleberry app, you can track everything on there and it predicts nap times which have been accurate since day 1. Obviously also go with babies cues but it has been a lifesaver.

If they get a bit fussy in the daytime try distracting them with low sensory activities if baby looks tired but want to sleep after a feed. They need to start knowing difference between day and night and if you let them sleep more in the day they will not sleep at night.

If you need to chat about it more feel free to message me 😊

I’m focusing on the night time routine but he goes to bed around 9. I wash, give cuddles, read and I have a baby night time video projected onto the wall for him to look at and fall asleep to. That’s the only part of his routine I can get right, it’s trying to get him to go long stretches during the night I’m struggling with lool

I’m in a sort of similar situation during the day, but we added a nighttime routine a few weeks ago which has been helpful to add structure. We give a bath (and sing some songs), then dry, dress clean nappy, then we read a story, and finally put on sleep sack before final feed. I’m breastfeeding and she normally falls asleep feeding.

During the day I do keep an eye on time between feeds. If it’s less than 2 hours since the last feed and she is fussying i will run through other things first before feeding (unless she is obviously mouthing).

I’m not sure when should move to a more strict daytime routine!

Bath in the evening every other day. The evening it’s not a bath he will get a warm water and cloth wipe down with a bedtime story. My boys routine didn’t kick in until he was 3 month old and started sleeping through the night

We don't have a day time routine, I just work around her and what she needs each day! As for nighttime, she has a very little routine but essentially comes to bed when we decide to get into bed! She has chill time with us in the bed in dimmed lighting whilst we chill then she's just swaddled and feed until she starts getting tired! Goes in the next to me when we decide to sleep and will have a bath every few days in the evening so not exactly a routine but it works for us! She's slept 6hrs the past two nights and is EBF 😊

My boy is now 13 weeks and from about 8 weeks we’ve been doing a routine. Milk at 7 then bath then pjs and cuddles/book and lastly some Michael Jackson till he falls asleep which is usually a song and a half. I will slowly wake him at around 10:30/11 for his dream feed then usually sleeps from 11:30 till 6am.
And if I don’t play Michael he gets upset with me 🥲

Bath time before bed for our baby really helps, then a feed and straight to bed xx

Personally I’ve never set a routine but we’ve just naturally fallen into one that suits our boy. He’s just turned 12 weeks and from 5 weeks old he’s continued to sleep through from 8:30-9:00pm and wakes 7:30-8:00am. He drinks more during the day which satisfies him for night time. Bath, bottle, bed is all we do 🥰

Honestly, the huckleberry app saved me. My little girl was struggling with sleep and I found it so hard to follow her cues. I couldn’t recommend an app more, it’s so helpful. She’s almost 3 months now and we have some what of a schedule because I’m able to put her down for naps according the app.

Any mamas in this situation? Doc says she needs formula

Breastfed since one month old. Born (4lbs 11oz) At her two month check with my midwives they said she was doing really well with weight gain (6lbs 5oz). Now at 3 months we went to our family doctor and she is at 7lbs 6.4oz.

My doctor is concerned about weight gain but also said she’s doing great with holding her head, being attentive, etc. Dr. Said I should give formula

But what I don’t understand is my daughter always seems satisfied with feeding and doesn’t cry or fuss after. Anyone have a similar situation?

Sleep Training

Hi! I was j wondering when everyone is starting sleep training and how they are doing it? My 3mo wakes up once of a night at around 3/4am after being asleep since 10pm, and has been doing so for about a month now. I’m not sure wether that means she is ready or not? She can sometimes settle herself after being woken up from a nap after about 2-3 mins (I never leave her longer as I get scared/worried about if she starts crying) and she has a pretty decent routine during the day. Should I start sleep training? What methods are good and reliable ( I am NOT considering the cry-it out method so please do not suggest it) (Pic so I don’t get lost)

When do your children go to bed?

I just saw a post about people being lucky their kids go to bed at 7pm, the comments were filled with people saying if they sent their kids to bed at 7…they’d be up at 3:30am / 4am / 5am…why is that??

My son goes to bed at 7pm and wakes up around 8/8:30am. I do consider myself really blessed with his sleep schedule however he doesn’t nap and he’s nearly 2 🤣 he dropped his final nap when he was around 14/15 months old 💔 if it’s later please let me know! Also what time they wake up - I’m curious 👀

Baby Losing Weight ☹️

Looking for a bit of advice/reassurance from other mums who are breastfeeding.

Baby had lost almost 10% of his birth weight at his Day 5 midwife home visit. He was weighed again today at Day 7 and his total weight loss is now 11%, so I’m feeling quite disheartened.

I’m exclusively breastfeeding and he’s feeding at least every 2 hours. He seems to be latching well and we’re getting plenty of wet nappies. The midwife is coming back in 2 days to weigh him again.

I’m going to make a conscious effort to increase my food and fluid intake too.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with their baby and managed to turn the weight loss around? Would really appreciate hearing how things went for you. Thanks

Laid back (biological) breastfeeding position

Hiya! ✨🌸
My baby is starting to feel heavy while breastfeeding in the cross/cradle position, and I would like to switch to the laid-back position.

Can you please share some tips?
Even better if there is an online video that I can watch (I’m a visual person)

Thank you so much 😊♥️
