Hi moms!
How are your babies sleeping, especially those under 3 months?
My almost 8-week-old baby sleeps for hours in my arms, on my chest, or in the carrier, even while I’m moving around doing chores. But the moment I transfer him to his bassinet, he starts grunting, wiggling, and wakes up and starts crying.
I can spend up to 2 hours trying to get him to nap in his bassinet, and he still doesn’t fall asleep. By then, his next feeding is already coming up, and he hasn’t napped at all! 😩
At night, he sleeps much more peacefully when we bed-share. I’ve also noticed that he’s calm and quiet on my chest but much noisier and more restless in his bassinet.
I’d love to hear your real-life experiences!
What actually helped your baby sleep in their bassinet? Do you use a special swaddle, a particular type of bassinet, or any tricks to make the transfer easier?

We try to distinguish between day and night sleep with the environment. We only swaddle at night (we use a few different ones), use a star projector, sound machine, and a humidifier and our little one sleeps very well

I have no advice. My son is almost 8 weeks and I experience the exact same thing. Only co-sleeping and contact naps work right now.

this is human nature! an alone baby is an exposed baby (traditionally/historically). baby wearing is great if you need to get stuff done during the day

Hi! Try using a heating pad in their bassinet as a bed warmer before transferring them

Yea not advice . At that stage . I cried on the bathroom floor a lot . I mean a lot 😞😞. Sorry . Just try not to pick up immediately. Not at all cry it out . Give the baby at least a couple of minutes to settle with a pacy I do remember picking the baby right back up immediately. It made it worse . After bottle , diaper . I remember going mentally psychotic trying to figure out what was wrong . I was doing way too much , rushing myself . Trying to many things at once instead taking a breath to give the baby a minute the baby probably was overstimulated with how many things was trying

I realised my 10 week old sleeps way better when shes swaddled but we only swaddle at night to help distinguish between night/day. During the day she'll wake up here and there but i just try to pat her back to sleep or give her the paci and she'll fall right back asleep.

Swaddles/sleep suit, white noise, something that has your scent on it (ie. a t shirt you’ve worn tucked flat, so it’s not risk) and being mindful of wake windows would be some of my suggestions. Day/night confusion comes into play after 9 weeks old, so keep this in mind.

As a mom of a 12 week baby. I still don’t have any advice. Mine still is exactly like this. Even with distinguishing night from day using a sleep sack now (previously swaddle) I think it’s just human nature. I keep telling myself that one day he won’t need me as much. Does it help? Not really I still find myself sleep deprived and crying. But I refuse to let him cry it out and he won’t take a paci.
Everyone on Instagram promoting sleep training either tends to charge for their course or says to ‘comment’ for their guide which in turn doesn’t really help much.
Anyone know of anyone actually giving advice on sleep training?

I’m trying to get my mind right, trying to find something to take my mind off this got feeling I’m having that something just isn’t right and when I have this feeling I’ve never been wrong. And I just want to not think about what it could possibly need cause I know once I find out it will not be pleasant. How do you shake your worries and this gut feeling?

My 2 year old keeps waking up at 5am and is cranky and tired enough that she wants to go back to sleep but needs lots of cuddles. But because by this point sleep pressure is low she’s takes over an hour to resettle and fall back to sleep. By this point my alarm is going off 6:15am for work 😖😩
She used to wake up nicely around 7am and we’d all be a lot calmer and have breakfast together but now I’m either letting her sleep in a bit so she’s not over tired and there’s always a big rush to get out the door.
Any tips?
She goes to bed at 8-8:30pm naps around 1pm for 1h-1h:30m

I’m a first time mom and my newborn is about 4 weeks now and began being fussy and just about inconsolable around 2 weeks. Most days he doesn’t nap or sleep at all during the day and is crying just about all day. I can’t put him down without him crying & if i’m lucky on the days he does nap he’s down for about 2-3 hours. I was told newborns sleep most of the day and have “wake windows” but mine doesn’t at all. He’s fed, changed & burped but will cry from morning to night and I spend my days holding and rocking him. Any tips?
