Hey girlies! I’m 5 weeks pregnant with my first and I’ve had cramps ever since I thought I was going to start my period, so it’s been around 4 weeks. The cramps can occasionally be painful. Perhaps once every two days I’ll have a cramp that lasts 10 seconds but it would be 8/10 in terms of pain, but other than that it would be between a 2/10 and a 4/10. It feels unusual because usually I’d only experience them for a week, but having them so often and for so long feels almost exhausting and draining, even though they’re not so painful. What has made me write this post is that fact that a) Google says women often times don’t experience symptoms at this stage. And b) I’ve been watching a few vlogs and I haven’t yet come across someone who has experienced cramps at this stage.. so please send across some advice or reassurance, it would be much appreciated 🥰

I was five weeks yesterday, I feel you, trust me, I asked everyone about it, literally panicked because they were period cramps, trust me apparently they’re completely normal! I asked my cousins, my mum, everyone! it’s just because your uterus is expanding and making a new lining that won’t shed! ❤️

I had cramps from the expected date of my period to last week which was week 6.
If they’re not lasting too long, then it’s usually common. Mine felt like my uterus was being stretched most of the time, to intense pain for about 5 mins.
If you’re worried, please speak to your doctor. Sending love!

Hi am 4 weeks 6 days and I have been getting pains since before I even found out I have been googling everything as it’s always different😅 sometimes period like cramps sometimes a sharp pain and now in my groin 😫 so worrying when your so early isn’t it xx

Hi Maaria, I’m 6 weeks pregnant, and have had cramps for a while now. Mine are usually mild, kinda like period cramps, but sometimes they are a bit stronger. I think when they are stronger there’s something else going on on top of it like gas or some digestive issues. I’ve called EPU a couple of times now because I also have occasional spotting, but they’ve told me that cramping can be absolutely normal, just watch for bleeding. Hope this helps :)

Not to scare you, everything is alright! But my cousin has had the cramping for about 20 weeks. It was due to previous losses and hence scar tissue. So that could be the reason. You could have some fibroids or polyps as well. It's many reasons. Have a check up X

Hi Maaria, I had cramps all throughout my first trimester. It’s very normal. I had a super healthy pregnancy. Just double-check with your midwife just in case of course!

Period cramps and pregnancy cramps are both caused by progesterone, so they're the same thing but for different reasons! It can be worrisome but rest assured it's normal and common
I was told that you could only have a scan every 2 weeks but I’ve got 3 in one week

What do they look like for you? I’m trying to work out if I were to have a second what variation I might get!
I know it’s not as black and white as this, but choose the closest answer and feel free to comment more specifics! ☺️

I’m 20 weeks pregnant today with my second baby, i haven’t really felt much movement in this pregnancy which is abit strange, i’ve felt the odd kick or flutter but that’s all is it normal to feel like this it. I do have a scan tomorrow to check everything is okay. last pregnancy i had scans but i’ve only had about 3 in this pregnancy as i went away for 2 week so my next one is tomorrow. just want to be reassured that everything is okay because i stress myself out all the time 😩 xx

Was supposed to get induced tonight at 39+2 days but the hospital is apparently busy with deliveries so now I’m on standby until they have room 😭😭 but they don’t know when that will be. anyone else have this happen to them?
I’m so nervous anyways about labor and this is really putting me over the edge.

Hi I been dealing with gas pains for over a year they come and go throughout the week. When I don’t eat I’m fine but once I eat breakfast I have a lot of gas pains lower pressure and need to put a heating pad. I have been diagnosed with diverticulosis in 2022 and had a colonoscopy 2024 and just found internal hemorrhoids. I been dealing with this and i don’t know if it’s IBS because I don’t know anyone who has that so I can’t ask if the symptoms are familiar. I’m also very stressed overwhelmed mom of three and I’m always burnt out. Have no village and I have health anxiety. 😞 anyone deal with this? I feel so alone
