PGTA testing

Hi all, I was curious if you did this testing and the reasons for and against? I’m 36, secondary infertility, miscarriage last Christmas. Moving to IVF.

Your clinic may or may not recommend it, mine didn't based on the number of embryos we had and the fact that our initial testing didn't flag anything unusual x

We were recommended it due to my age but didn't do it as IVF is expensive enough and no guarantees that you will have more success with a PGTA tested embryo. Currently 15 weeks pregnant, second transfer.

We weren’t recommended it when doing IVF at 36 as at that age I think the stats are that it doesn’t increase the chances of successful outcome.

When discussing our recent failed transfer with our last embryo from the round at 36, we were told that if we were to do another collection they would recommend PGTA testing, but I’m 41 now.

I had 5 blastocysts at age 36 they said not to test ( non have resulted in love birth )
Just going for a collection at 37 in a few months and have decided to test

First round we tested and implantation failed. Second round we tested and didn't transfer as the only embryo was abnormal. Third round no test as we wanted to try fresh transfer - that little embryo is nearly 17 months old

Changing last name without fathers consent

I need advice/help on how I can change my child’s last name without his fathers consent (he’s on the birth certificate), I’m not doing this out of spite and is for my child’s best interest, my 4 other children have my surename (they have a different father and I choose my last name) I was in a domestic relationship with my sons father and I was always unsure on him having his last name but out of fear to not cause a problem I accepted it but now I feel my son is going to grow up feeling different to his siblings as he’s the only one with the last name and no connection with his fathers family and it honestly makes me sad 😞 I just don’t want him to feel different as he already has a different dad and he doesn’t see him, I can’t contact the family as he always made sure I had no information to contact them, any advice would be extremely appreciated x

TTC - partner

Does anyone else find that the TTC journey is very much one sided. Just feel I’m the one taking the vitamins, doing the ovulation tests and trying to engage him in sex at the right time and he just isn’t putting in the effort. Feeling so defeated.

Anyone had this?

I got 3 seperate very faint lines on tests this morning but my anxiety got the better of me and I’ve done 2 more tests this afternoon which there was no faint line?

Has anyone had this and gone on to get stronger positives despite negatives after?
