I tested positive for GBS recently at my GP, first time hearing of it, turns out I might of had it a while as itās been effecting my mobility possibly even before my pregnancy as I was having trouble with my legs which physio couldnāt diagnose and has only spread since to my back. I messaged my midwife to update her and ask about it, all she did was send me a very scary leaflet with no message, which upon reading has only made me depressed and anxious for my babies wellbeing. Iām trying to be positive but Iāve never had much luck in life so Iām just constantly worried and I feel like Iām grieving something that isnāt even certain yet but I feel so guilty that I may possibly harm my baby. Is anyone else feeling the same or do I just sound like a complete nut job? Any advice, information, experiences shared would be greatly appreciated š¤

GBS is only dangerous to your baby during labour. Most women carry GBS at some point. This is why they give IV antibiotics when you go into labour. I gave birth last week and had the antibiotics. We stayed in 12 hours after to have observations and then went home. Everything is fine :) please donāt worry.

I tested positive for it as well during my pregnancy and of course it's natural to feel worried. I went on to have a beautiful water birth - I was given the antibiotic via a drip before I got in the pool. We were kept in for 12 hours post birth for obs on baby like the previous poster has mentioned, but all was OK x
Girls Iām sooooo excited!!!!! Iām suspected pre-eclampsia (not ideal) but this means my c-section has been moved to next Wednesday and I canāt WAIT to meet my baby and no longer be pregnant anymore š„³ Is anyone else in a similar situation?

Has anyone else been weighed as part of their midwife appointments?
I saw a different midwife as mine was on leave and she noted that I hadnāt been weighed since my first appointment (currently 34 weeks). I didnāt think anything of it. This is my second pregnancy and Iām well aware my body likes to pile on the weight, Iām not concerned as this happened with my first. So when she noted Iād put on 18kg she then went on a complete spiral about GD even though I had no other triggers. (I was a size 8 before ā so itās not like a little weight would do me harm)
Also I actually put on much more weight in my first pregnancy.
After looking into, the NICE guidelines say that they shouldnāt do routine weigh ins as there are too many factors and it doesnāt mean much on its own.
Has anyone else had a weigh in trigger a risk factor ā it didnāt help the midwife was the GD specialist at the hospital

So my MIL offered to pay for me to have the weight loss jab! Bear in mind Iām 5 weeks pp and I havenāt mentioned to her about even wanting to loose weight!
The conversation came up because she offered to pay for it for my partner and then she bought me into the conversation too! Like I was a size 8 before I had my two children and Iām now probably more of a 14 and I will loose weight when Iām ready but just in no rush but now I feel like maybe I should just start now! Like I must be massive! She also before hand said I looked like I had lost weight in my faceš«
Would anyone else be offended or am I just overthinking it?

Were any of you not able to drive anymore during the 3rd trimester? I'm 30 weeks and driving is becoming very difficult, also sitting in the office all day, I work hybrid so I only go in twice a week and those days are just torture. How did you all handle that?
