‘Reins’

Hey mums! 🩷 Just wondering what everyone’s opinions are on reins for toddlers? My little girl is 18 months old and absolutely loves walking everywhere, but she hates the pram 😂 I’ve been debating getting her some reins, but I’ve seen quite a few mixed opinions on them!

Would you recommend them? Do your little ones get on with them, and do you find them helpful when out and about? I’d love to hear your honest opinions and experiences before I get some! 🫶🏼💕

If she’s a runner then yes absolutely worth the extra safety. Always hold hands still but the reigns can help with the extra security if she’s a bit of a flight risk! Mixed opinions come mainly from people who have toddlers who don’t run away

My son would never walk in them but he’s a runner and I’d always use them if you can! Especially close to roads/ in busy places she could easily get lost x

Is a huge yes from me. It takes 0.0005 seconds for me to be distracted and he’s gone. I’d rather a couple of parents judging me than a lost/ taken/ ran over child.

Do what’s best for you. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks.

My son had reins from the moment he started walking😂 the only opinion that matters on these kind of things is yours as the parent, let people look and talk. My sons a runner so if we don’t have them with us he simply doesn’t get out the pram

My son is only 3 months right now but 100% yes to reins.
Have a look next time you’re in the car or on a bus and see just how easy it would be to miss a small child at all angles. Even doing 20mph, stopping on a penny is next to impossible in the time it would take a little escapee to get away from safety and into the road. Not to mention the amount of dodgy folk, dogs off lead that may mean no harm but don’t know their own size etc etc.
Like Sadie said, I’d rather be judged than my child be gone in milliseconds.

How to get baby to nap without feeding?

My baby is almost 11 months old and he’s always fed to sleep even at bedtime. Now I feel like he’s starting to drop bottles, I struggle to get him to nap.

Like today, he had a filling lunch so refused his 3.30pm bottle for his nap, I resorted to having to drive around in the car to get him to sleep. I tried rocking and he just cries and tried to turn.

Any ideas on how I can start to get him to fall asleep with no bottle?

I'm a bit baffled because I didn't realise it could happen this soon. Now I'm prange sleeping.

I placed her on her back. When we woke for feeding she was on my belly. 🥴

Is this normal?

Im a FTM and my 5 week old daughter is going through a stage of either not sleeping or sleeping too long, This morning she woke up at 4 and didn’t go back to sleep until 9:30, Between that time she had about 12oz of milk and slept for 8 hours, Has anyone else had this with their baby? Should I be worried and wake her up if she sleeps for that long again? Just looking for a bit of advice

How did you get your little ones to use the sofa appropriately?

My daughter is 11months and can get up on the sofa but she jumps around on it like she has 9 lives, which obviously doesn’t really mix with a kid who has no sense of danger. She doesn’t get off safely and i can’t trust her to be on it but she’s desperate to do it since shes figured it out. Shes in a climbing phase anything she can be on she is, shes relentless too

My sons 4 and i can’t remember how i did it with him it’s like he just got it randomly, he still climbed alot but always safely

How did you get your young children to be safer on the sofa or just things in general?

DNA Test

My baby’s dad performed a DNA test on him and my baby without my knowledge or consent. My baby wasn’t even a month old at this point. Any advice or thoughts? He’s not on the birth certificate.
