My child has just began reception and when at home she will sometime count to 10 or other times she jumbles up all of the numbers.
We practice phonics daily through play or using the teachers play cards. We read around 10 books a day together. When it comes to finding words my child confuses a-d, f-t and i with j.
I suffered from a stroke so I find it quite hard to support her learning myself but I do try. I am aware learning is highly play based at this age but I do not want her behind her peers.
Is it too early to consider a tutor ?
Any advice on supporting her learning ?
Anything you recommend using?

Honestly I think you’re doing a lot and it’s OK that she’s taking her time. If you’re concerned you could always talk to her school and see what they recommend but you’re doing a lot more than I do with my 3.5 year old and she’s picked it up because she enjoys it and wants to do it (she’s lacking enthusiasm in many other areas, they all have their strengths). I’d chat to school, take the pressure off a bit, try to make it less structured and more fun like hey how many bits of toast are left?! Also if you use screen time at all I do recommend number blocks. My daughter LOVES them and it’s not all about the tv, she’s got the yoto card for songs and some toys. With letters we have physical items, magnets that she can carry round and assign to her toys for example. She loves getting me the M for Mama! I think there’s importance in supporting learning but I also think sometimes it’s too much and I don’t think that this is particularly concerning for a 4 year old.

I think you're doing a good job. Making learning something fun you do together will be really beneficial.
My son muddles up p/d/b and l/i too and he is learning to read but he's not confident. They are just 4 years old and I think it can be easy to worry about their progress.
Last week we had parents evening and his teacher said she was happy with his progress (and imo he isn't really "advanced" or ahead in anything, he's just doing the best he can at 4).
I second Rachel's comment about the Numberblocks! We also have the yoto cards but the same songs are on Spotify (if you use it) and we listen to those in the car.
Speak to your daughters teacher and see if they have a parents evening planned or simply ask if they have any concerns.
Anyone’s husband still
play video games or is it just my husband? It’s such a turn off for me 🤢 He just started using an old phone to play a game on there but prior he would go to the basement anytime he could to play but now he just sitting around up here on the phone playing games and it’s so f*cking annoying. He literally spent two hours this morning that phone then took it with him to the bathroom to play while he used the bathroom now he’s literally standing in the kitchen playing while I brush my daughter’s hair.

Hi, is it possible my 11 week old is teething? His cheeks are often quite red, nappies are wetter and he’s now sucking both his hands quite vigorously even though he’s just been fed.

Please please please send me patience.
It's been 20 mins and he's only sorted 6 pieces of clothing....

I’m so sorry this isn’t really about my baby or motherhood. I’m a single mum to a little boy and I’ve been working my absolute arse off whilst i can get baby free time but i just feel like im constantly broke. i always make sure my baby has everything and ill do whatever I can to make sure he has what he needs and wants. so i got myself into debt. he’s just had his bday so that was klarna and clearpay used. When i became a single mum i had no where to go so i had a loan for hotel rooms. I used a credit card to replace all his clothes, toys, bottles, steriliser, cot, walker etc. i left with nothing and had to build it all back up again. I try as much as i can to make the monthly payments etc but it’s just not helping. does anyone know how to get help with this ? I’ve called the company’s but non of them seem to understand or hear me. It’s like talking to a wall. I know it seems silly but I truly just wanted best for my little boy in a really hard and 💩 situation.
Thank you for taking time to read 🩵

My daughter has not long turned 17 months old and she won’t eat breakfast, won’t eat her lunch just won’t eat anything I give to her, I’m really struggling because she needs to eat something and she’s getting up multiple times a night likely because she’s hungry however refusing any kinds of food I give her, is anyone else dealing with this at all?

Okay so I’m just pissed that my boyfriend decides to get drunk every weekend and spends hours playing games then nighttime is coming and he has to go to couch bc we cosleep. But baby boy has been awake since 2am and so fussy and ofc I’m the one handling everything bc I do days and nights and baths and cries and I’m just so exhausted and pissed at him bc he gets free time to play and get drunk but I don’t get ANY free time to do anything. I haven’t even showered.
I’m just so tired and I know load can’t be balanced bc I’m EBF so basically I need to be available for baby always (which is not a problem bc this type of feeding was my decision) but he NEVER does nights, he doesn’t even know how to put him to sleep. And don’t even get me started on how many times A DAY I ask him if he has washed his hands. I don’t understand the fact that he DOESNT UNDERSTAND how important hygiene is when our baby is taking his hands to his mouth ALL THE TIME. UGHHHH I’m just so tired of everything.
