Baby is 5 months and WILL NOT nap for longer than 30’mins - pretty sure he’s not linking sleep cycles.
Feeling really down about it and seeing other babies his age take longer oh 1-2 hour naps is making me spiral.
Any non first time mums out there can reassure me?
Currently feeling like he will never nap for longer than 30 minutes and this is my life now,

Mine is the same unless we contact nap 🫠

It’s really normal! The more day sleep they take the less they’ll sleep overnight so actually you don’t want huge day time naps!
Some babies have higher sleep needs and can sleep all day and night, I’ve had 2 low sleep needs babies who have short naps and short nights.
They’re all different 😊 if baby is happy and meeting milestones you’re good. As they drop naps you’ll find the ones that remain may lengthen x

Mine is the same and my little boy was too. He started having 1h-1h30 naps once he went to down to one nap a day

Mine is the same! I’m exhausted 🫣

My boy is the same, never really napped longer than 45 mins since birth but recently his naps are down to 30 mins. His night sleep is great though, sleeps 8pm-8am solidly so I don’t worry about it too much as I assume he just gets most of what he needs at night and is only very grumpy sometimes in the evening. Much prefer it that way round!

Supernormal, my five month old daughter also cannot connect them unless we’re contact napping. Therefore, what I do is I will put her down and then for at least one of her naps in the afternoon, I will catch her before 40 minutes, which is her cycle length, and pick her up and cuddle her back to sleep and then I can’t transfer after that, we just have to do it as a contact nap. I do this because I know for a fact that she needs one long nap a day. She can have short naps, but if she doesn’t have at least one nap that’s long, she’s a nightmare at night. And by that, I mean she’ll wake up loads, whereas if I can get her to have the right amount of naps in a day, she sleeps like a dream at night.

Ik it can be controversial amongst parents but my baby sleeps amazing on his stomach if you want maybe try that

Mine is the same and my first LG was also the same til she was maybe around 1 then started having longer naps, it’s never bothered me as they get their sleep during the night so can’t complain x
I have been really struggling with my recovery post my C section, it’s almost 4 months now but I keep getting pains in my scar area, my stomach from bottom feels painful when touching and I struggle with holding my baby for long or putting him in the crib and same when bending to pick him up from it. Is this normal or shall I get checked?

Hey all, my nearly 5 month old has started going 6-8 hours between feeds at night which is great but he wakes up with his nappy leaking up the front. There's still absorption left at the back of his nappy but since learning to roll he sleeps on his front.
Any advice on stopping these leaks? I tried putting a size up nappy over his regular one but that had him uncomfortable and waking up every 1-2 hours.

Hi moms!
So my baby is starting to transition to eating breast milk more often now that I’m at home more often and slowly coming off of eating formula except for when I’m not at home because I’m not producing much milk while pumping because I haven’t gotten into pumping yet.
Anyways, normally my baby poops every few days but I’ve noticed since I’m breastfeeding more he hasn’t poop in 8 days and I’m concerned.
He’s gassy and his stomach is soft and he seems fine but I just want to help him poop so he won’t get too backed up.
Any tips?

Anyone else's 5 month old night sleep just gone to pot?! Used to sleep about 10 hours through and now multiple wake ups and taking ages to settle. Having to feed back to sleep each time is exhausting as I want her to start not associating boob with sleep all the time. Trying to take her off as soon as she's done. Just really annoying when it was going so well with sleep before, it's giving me flashbacks to newborn days 😂
