Hi, my little boy was the same. I enrolled him for speech therapy. But as soon as I extended his nursery from 3 half days to 3 full days at nursery, within 3 days there was a noticeable change and then it just got better and and better.

They will get there in their own time, but it was one of my biggest insecurities for so long as a mother, as every one else I knew they're child could talk but mine

Kids are different
My first child didn’t start talking properly until she was 3plus
My second start talking at 13 months due to having her big sister
It’s usually harder for the first kids. My friend son is 3 and she’s worried but told her the same
That doesn’t mean ur child has delayed speech

Just here to say my 2.5yr old doesn't talk yet either but you can still put them in speech therapy as they work on the foundation skills for speech to happen (turn taking, imitation, social interest, following instructions etc)

Baby No.2

Hello, just curious I seen something earlier of another mums experience about having a second child and experiencing rage towards their first born.

Just wondering if this is fairly common? What’s everyone’s experience with rage and rage towards first born?

With my first I had rage towards the dog and my partner a lot when they would wake the baby a lot, I remember the feeling like it was yesterday and I would feel awful if I had this feeling and less patience towards my first ….

Thinking around a 3 year age gap also so if anyone had any similar age gaps what was your experiences?

Sex after birth

I’m 6 weeks pp and I’m dying to have sex lol, me and my partner would have sex religiously before I gave birth, atleast once a day, it’s been 6 weeks without and I’m super worried, I had a second degree tear and an episiotomy. The outside part of episiotomy has completely healed but the internal part of it, turns out I got an infection, I’ve had it for at least 2 weeks, do you think this will prevent me from getting cleared at my 6 week check up?

Could this be postnatal depression, or is this just motherhood?

I’m 7 months postpartum and for months I’ve been feeling sad, overwhelmed, irritable, anxious and constantly exhausted.

I feel like I’ve completely lost myself. Before having my baby, I was outgoing, sociable, funny and always doing something. Now I struggle to find the motivation to do basic things like showering, housework or even reading a book. Sometimes I spend hours lying around scrolling on my phone, wanting to do things but feeling physically and mentally unable to get started. I can go days without showering, struggle to concentrate and feel like my brain just doesn’t work the way it used to. I feel incredibly lonely, guilty and like I’m constantly failing as a mum.

I worry excessively about my baby’s safety and sometimes stay awake for hours checking his breathing and temperature. I struggle to trust anyone else to look after him and feel like I can never properly switch off. Even making plans or going out feels difficult, and sometimes I feel relieved when plans get cancelled.

I feel resentful that my husband still has freedom to enjoy his life while mine feels completely consumed by motherhood. I miss my old life, my independence and the person I used to be.

I absolutely adore my son and feel so much happiness when he smiles and reaches new milestones, but I find motherhood much harder than I ever expected. I always assumed this was just how difficult motherhood was supposed to feel, but I’m starting to question whether the level of distress I’m experiencing is beyond the normal adjustment.

Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you distinguish normal adjustment from postnatal depression?

Four month regression

Is anyone else suffering through the four month regression? We’ve gone to having a very unhappy baby boy every evening - he’s distracted at the breast (won’t take a bottle), bawling for 30 mins + every night and has gone to one hour wake ups throughout the night (he was sleeping through for seven hours 😩). Please tell me it gets better as I feel like I’m failing miserably at the minute!!
