Hi everyone. I need some advice. I have a 22 month old daughter that goes to daycare and a 2 week old son I'm on maternity leave with. We also have a cat. She's an older kitten already, but not yet a year old. She is annoying the ever-loving hell out of me and I keep wanting to lock her up in a separate area of the house, because she keeps play/attacking me while I'm nursing or just sitting with my baby. I'm seriously considering giving her away. Is this normal, will it pass or should I just go with my gut and find her a new home?

I think it’s pretty normal at her age! You basically have another kid who wants to play all the time. I’m a cat mom to an 8-year-old, and they do tend to calm down as they get older. I actually miss the energy she used to have when she was younger. She was pretty good at playing fetch!

Yes super normal and it will go away, she’s still in her kitten phase so she wants ur attention. I have two cats and a dog and I’m 2 weeks postpartum after a C-section and with a newborn. My dog and cats are super friendly and good with kids but whenever I’m with my daughter they get a bit jealous they bring their toys and keep jumping on me to play with them. I was super annoyed because my baby came a month early she’s super small, so my husband got them those puzzle toys. And he hides treats in them so whenever I’m pumping or feeding the baby he puts them out for them and they play. I try my best to remember they are also getting used to this new normal so it’s hard for them to go from having all the attention to sharing with a baby that needs constant attention. It will pass and it’s normal to feel like they are so annoying because they are at that moment, But they don’t know that.
You’re doing great!

Rage for pets is real. I hate my dog and cats since I had my first born. Got better when my first turned 2. Now it's my second baby and I'm much more relaxed

I felt so much rage for my bigger dog when I my first was born, I was so overstimulated with my son that I had no spare patience for my dog (or husband lol) but that feeling faded and the dogs got better at understanding the new dynamic. Your cat will learn to respect your boundaries eventually, but trust your gut and don’t feel bad about doing whats right for your growing family
Thank you all for the advice. I thought I was being a total monster and I feel so bad that I'm unable to give her the attention she needs right now. I will hold out and try some fetch games or puzzles, I do love our cat and don't want to give her away.
Hi everyone 👋 I’m Georgia, a mum to an 18mo and doing some research into how parents choose their first nursery.
I’d love to chat to mums who are currently looking or have recently chosen one to learn where you looked for info, what helped and what’s been tricky.
It would be a half hour video chat with a 20 pound voucher as a thank you for your time.
If you’re interested, send me a message and I’ll share details. Thanks! 🙏

My husband and I have been arguing. I want to just do the trunk or treat. He wants to do traditional only. Last year we did neither (had a wedding), but every other year we do both. This year we agreed to only do one because we’ve got a lot going on. It’s been a heated debate since.

We are being inundated with questions for what we want for our 6 month old for Christmas. Any suggestions for toys or baby gear that has been absolute game changers for your 6 month - 1 years olds?

Rice is usually our go to carb when it’s dinner time but lately my toddler is on a rice strike and will only eat his protein. What sides are you guys doing for dinner? My toddler will not eat mashed potatoes/ eats too much fries.

When is a good time to start buying things for baby? All I’ve bought is a hat and scared to buy anything more incase something goes wrong 😭😩 also any recommendations on affordable travel systems? I can’t justify spending so much money on a travel system that will grow out of most of the things by 6months-1 year.

Am I going crazy? My baby has been sick for the last few days and I have not been getting sleep or taking care of myself cuz I have been too focused on him lately. After my man got home from work didn’t say hi or asked how I was doing just immediately got into the shower and was gone for 30 mins. I get it not a big deal but I feel like this is when we have a sick baby. Am I in the wrong for getting mad?
