Too overweight for fertility clinic referral?

I have recently seen GP who did a referral to fertility clinic, we have been trying about 15 months. I have PCOS and am in Metformin. I have a BMI of 32 (point something). I looked up the details for the local fertility clinic and the GP didn't give much information so I planned to call. I saw on the info they may reject your referral if BMI is over 30. I am now worried, I find it so hard to lose weight cos if PCOS. Anyone have any experience of this?

They shouldn’t reject your initial referral. You can still have all the tests done like blood test, HSG, ultrasound etc. but they probably won’t refer you for IVF until your BMI is what they require x

Thank you, I knew IVF has strict weight limits. I'm hoping for letrozole as I have PCOS, I hope I can still get tests/first line treatment whilst I continue to try to lose weight in case IVF is ever needed x

Thank you so much! This has given me some hope 🙂 x

Each NHS trust funding policy is different so worth a call and finding out what your options are. At my clinic the NHS limit is strictly 30 for all treatment, but 35 when paying privately.

IVF

This isn't really me asking anyone. I just don't have anyone to talk to about this stuff. My first IVF cycle failed, I got 5 follicles, 3 eggs and 3 fertilised but only one made it.

For my second cycle, I had egg collection yesterday. They got 7 follicles, 5 eggs and 4 fertilised.

I think the implantation failed last time due to me having stage 4 Endometriosis but I'm just really happy I've managed to get to this part again. This is my last funded NHS cycle as I cannot afford it so I'm really hoping this works.

I'm 31 with low AMH.

Sorry just wanted someone to be excited with me 🤣🤣

Copper iud

Hello ,
I’m getting a copper iud tomorrow. I’ve never had anything like it.. I’m 44 and have a 3 month old on Halloween! I definitely don’t want any more 😂 Plz tell me your experiences if you’ve had one !! This was my 4th and I have a pretty high pain tolerance:)

How screwed am I 🥲

I’m 3 months postpartum and stopped the mini pill about 2 weeks ago because of severe mood swings. This past Sunday, my husband didn’t pull out 🫣. I took a plan b Monday morning but according to ovulation tests I am ovulating today! Apparently plan b won’t delay ovulation if you’re already entering your LH surge and I would’ve been on Monday. I’m scared lol

Pregnancy

I am 38 years old.. I'm not 40 yet. I've been using the premom app. It says its ovulation day but I also took easy home ovulation test this morning. My LH levels are still low. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Faint lines progressing slow

Does anyone else around 15/16 dpo with a positive and have strong positive lines? Mine aren't dye stealing and it's making me anxious they're not strong.
