Views on pre made food like Ella's kitchen pouches?

I've heard they are loaded with sugar and to steer clear - curious what others think?

I don’t know personally, sorry, but have you read the ingredients? Legally, as a food item, all ingredients need to be listed (with largest quantity listed first). Probably the best way to make a judgement on it 🙂

I personally didn’t use things like this with my first and don’t intend to use them this time.

For me, I just found it easier that baby eats a modified version of whatever we’re eating.

I’m sure they did a study on food pouches a few years ago which looked into the nutritional value (assuming you’re in the UK), might be worth a Google!

There’s a BBC panorama documentary about them - I personally wouldn’t give them regularly/ as a meal x

I didn't use them with my first and probably won't this time around. I made my own and then slowly over time started making things like Mac and cheese from carrot or parsnip purée etc which my two year old still eats now. I was always told to add in either your breastmilk or formula milk to the homemade purée so they have a familiar taste. I know it's not for everyone and the pouches are good for when you are out and about etc but the sugar content is usually very high for a baby

They’re handy as a backup if out and about. I might see if lune&wild offer similar though as they seem to be better quality.

I prefer the supermarket own brand ones and go for plainer options like carrots/peas just as an emergency

Personally I think there ok in times your stuck to grab things for time. But I do know that there is no British standard to the safety and expectations of yhe pouches etc so I prefer to aim for versions of what we are eating ourselves x

We haven’t given pouches, only the melty puffs etc. The pouches and jars of food are actually foul in my opinion and taste nothing like the real thing. I attended a weaning info party for my boy and we were given a mushed up banana and the Ella’s kitchen banana pouch and the difference was insane. Personally I batch make everything and pop it in the freezer, I understand they’re useful when you’re stuck and need something to give but personally wouldn’t buy them. They’re also much more expensive than if you were to make your own!

Bath times-how many times a week

So I need to ask how many times do I need to bathe my baby, I usually do it three times a week, I did her last night and will have a bath on Tuesday night, it's mainly a shower with mum as I can't access the bath at the moment but I am 100% safe with her in there but I found if I did it with her she sleeps better, she's five months old.
I usually strip her off, get into the shower and use an old mam bottle to pour water over her, wash her hair and body, gently and carefully, I use a muzzy to help hold her, then I dry her and put on lotion that for nights, like Nalas oil, which is amazing and smells divine. But should I be doing it more or not

My 1 year old freaking me out

On days when it's just us at home and I'm bathing him, I leave the bathroom door open and this lil boy looks right over my shoulder as if he's glancing at someone but no one but us be at home!!!! He's been doing it for months and I've convinced myself he's just looking around but he's look looks like someone/something catches his eye and I just pray in my head to be casting out any spirit that shouldn't be in this house. Pray for us - sincerely 🙏

3 under 4

Anyone had 3 kids under the age of 4? How do/did you manage??
I have a 3yr old, 18 month old and almost 4 week old. Partner went back to work this week and I feel like ive just struggled the whole time. 3yr old is mega defiant at the moment and just screams at me if I tell her off for something. 18 month old is very hit and miss with his naps at the moment. Like he's been up since 5.30am, tried putting him down for a nap earlier and he just screamed and screamed and screamed so aborted the nap, tried a 2nd time and he napped all of 10mins before awake and screaming again. 4 week old generally been fine but extra fussy the last couple of days and its hard to get her to sleep today 🤦‍♀️ i feel like a really shit mum at the moment. I can't get out with them as car is being fixed at the garage currently and the new pram ive ordered still hasnt arrived as its been on backorder. Ive also ordered a baby carrier to hopefully help. If anyone has any words of encouragement or any tips id be very grateful. I have cried so much this week to my partner because I feel like im failing 🙃

Milestones

Where is your little one with their milestones/ development?

My son is 6 months in 11 days and still hasn’t rolled over from back to tummy, he’s done tummy to back at most a couple of times but no matter what I do to help and encourage him to roll there is nothing he doesn’t seem bothered.

Don’t want to be one for comparing kids but when my daughter was at his age she was crawling, fully aware all kids develop differently and do things in their own time but being nearly 6 months and not bothered about rolling is this something to be concerned about??

First period

Hello! So I’m first time mum, 6 weeks 4 days pp and also exclusively breast feed. Is it normal that I haven’t had my first period yet? I know because I breast feed that it can be delayed but just wondering how long others waited before it arrived. Feel anxious about the first one 🙈
Thanks :)

Wake period

If I put my baby to sleep and they then wake up 20 mins later crying so I pick them up and and they sleep straight away, does the wake period restart from the minute I picked them up ?
