Just a rant no one to talk to.
Am I being sensitive or reasonable?

I feel so alone and it’s very overwhelming. I just planned special dates and a surprise party this whole week for my boyfriend’s birthday; which was on Halloween because he hadn’t been feeling like himself lately. He told me “thank you this is the most effort, anybody has ever put into me.” I don’t feel appreciated though. Maybe my hormones are just getting the best of me rn, I’m currently pregnant with my 2nd.

It’s hard to know as an outsider without seeing how you’re being treated outside of this. Hearing the thank you and also acknowledging how much effort you put into him this week is great! Remember your above statement saying that he hasn’t been feeling like himself lately… men also can go through depression, could be seasonal depression so if that is what he is experiencing, then him acknowledging you and giving his thanks may be the most he can muster at the moment. I think it sounds sweet from both of your parts. Without seeing the inner makings of your relationship anyways

I think what you did was super sweet!! Sounds like you made his birthday special in part because you were already feeling alone and maybe you were trying to use that as a way to connect? Maybe there’s a deeper issue there too. What’s his love language? It sounds like yours maybe gift-giving/acts of service.

Girl I’m in the same boat but with my husband. Our baby is almost 2 weeks and he had been doing such a good job taking care of the baby and I. I had gotten him a gift from the baby just a sentimental thing. He didn’t even say anything much. Halloween comes around and I carved the babies first pumpkin while he sat and watched videos on his phone and tried to tell me it was my fault I didn’t speak up but yet my mom and I had a full blown conversation twice right beside of carving the pumpkin. I think as new moms it’s hard for any one else but another mom to know what we are truly going through and feeling. My question is what makes you feel appreciated? What could he do that makes you feel special and voice that to him because you deserve to feel appreciated and special too.

If Noone has ever put that much effort into him or his birthday he may not have known how to react to such a gesture. I'm sure hes very appreciative but may lack the means of communicating that.

This post is not meant to talk down on anyone...

One thing that makes me super proud as a parent is having a full fridge and pantry.

Like I said.. I am not talking down on anyone.. As a child I grew up with barely any food in the house and I never wanted my children to have that.

Halloween trick or treating was good until not. Any insight appreciated.

We had a good Halloween night except towards the end my spicy 6 yr old started acting angry and began running away from me and my husband. We were near streets so I started feeling scared she would run into the street as she wouldn’t take my hand or her father’s. Then it escalated as well because her father was getting frustrated she kept running away from us even more and we just didn’t know how she would react if we got closer. So he began raising his tone and I began telling him to lower his voice because it wasn’t helping. People around us were noticing and I began feeling overwhelmed (our first time dealing with a meltdown this way with her). So then luckily her father was able to reach her and carry her even though she was kicking and yelling. We also don’t drive so we were waiting on our uber, however that was a bad idea. She was semi quiet in the car but she began talking to us in a demanding voice that led to aggression towards us. She began pushing our face with her hands. Ofc we tried to parent in that moment but that wasn’t working. Also, I was beginning to see my husband was becoming highly frustrated with her so I tried to diffuse the situation to no avail. So then, Uber driver turned to us and said he would pull over and drop us off on the side of the route if we didn’t stop. He said this is bad energy and I don’t want that in my car. I also don’t tolerate bratty kids in my car. I immediately simply said we understood simply because I wanted to get home already and didn’t have energy to say anything back. But it seemed that my girl also settled down right after that as much as it pained me to hear the driver call her bratty. Which she is not, but of course outside perspective only sees one small window of what’s happening. However, once we arrived home we had time separately to reflect and our daughter came to apologize and we had a working conversation. I just felt so horrible that the driver said what he said and that the people from where we tricked or treated also saw us in those moments probably thinking we were being horrible to our kid but when your kid’s safety is in question all parenting tools go out the window.

Husband troubles

Im 30 weeks pregnant. My husband hasn't exactly been sympathetic during this pregnancy. We've just had his parents stay last weekend. They live 4 hours away. And theyre the typical ignorant to the wife inlaws who ignore boundaries with their grandchildren who i struggle with and the husband acts like its all in the wife's head. They were alright to see us after baby was born but my husbands sister invited us 2 hours away next weekend. I said to my husband its too much. Im getting further in the pregnancy and its too much. He went off at me for an hour calling me selfish and cutting me off when I tried to talk saying I never let our 3 year old see her grandparents. Mind you they spent all last weekend here and we saw them 5 weeks prior. They were on a cruise that whole 5 weeks too. My husband said if I dont want to go that's fine but he will take our daughter without me. Im not ok with that as every rule goes out the window when im not there. Ive caved and said ok but thats it then for travelling to see them until the babies born. He said no its not. My sister has a Christmas thing on (ill be 37 weeks pregnant then) and you dont have to go but I'll be taking our daughter. Hes not thinking of me or my feelings at all. Its causing so much stress. I dont know what to do. Im not ok with him taking our daughtet
