Hi ladies! I’m having a membrane sweep on Wednesday and would love to hear about your experiences. ❤️
How long after the sweep did you go into labour? Did it happen the same day, or did it take a few days?
Also, how painful did you find the procedure? I’m a little nervous, so I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences! 🥰

I had a sweep with my first, it is super uncomfortable and slightly painful but not terrible. It doesn’t last long at all, I think my midwife did about 10 circular movements with her finger. I had the sweep mid morning and was in active labour by about 4am the following morning! Good luck 💕

With my first i had 4 sweeps (i was due 08/09/24) 1st sweep 02/09/24, 2nd sweep 10/09/24, 3rd sweep 15/09/24 & cervical balloon inserted for 24 hours. 16/09/24 ballon out, waters manually broken and 4th sweep and 4 hours after that placed on hormonal drip - 8 hours after that baby was born at 41+1. He was definitely cosy in my belly🤣
Im due my second baby on the 12th and im having my first sweep tomorrow, at 39+1 - hoping things get going alot quicker this time! Best thing to do is keep active afterwards, walking, curb walking, birthing ball etc etc. The sweeps themselves can be uncomfortable and you will get cramping afterwards. Feel free to message me xx

I had a sweep and went into labour a few hours later and gave birth 12 hours after the sweep. The sweep didn’t hurt at all but I think that’s because my body was ready
Need some advice please! Yesterday I had a loose tummy and nausea, was sick once. Today I have woken up to a stitch feeling on the sides of my bump and the top. I’m having irregular contractions. Just had one 90sec one that made me cry. I have laid down to rest but still getting them.. could this be prodromal or real?

Just reflecting on my birth, all I can think is why? Why did it happen. So does anyone have an idea of what could have caused it to happen
Here is the birth story:
At 31+5 I had a big bleed. When I got seen at triage they said my cervix was closed and the scan showed my placenta was okay. They kept me in for a few nights till the bleeding stopped and gave me steroid injections.
Then again at 32+3 I had another bleed, more blood this time. Again they couldn’t see why so I was kept in for 3 days till that bleeding stopped
Then at 33 weeks, i had felt pelvic pressure all day. And bad back ache. I took a bath and as I stepped out my waters completely broke. I went into triage and they kept me in again, I wasn’t having contractions. They said they’ll try get me to 37 weeks
Then early hours at 33+2 I started getting contractions, I contracted for 10 hours then my waters started turning green. And my baby’s heart started decelerating at every contraction. So I was taken for an emergency c section. My baby boy was a healthy 5lbs5oz. It was later confirmed that I had caught an infection from my waters breaking, and when they got him out there was little to no fluid left at all which was causing decels.
We spent 11 days in nicu and he’s now 4 weeks old and doing so well!
I just wonder why it happened, why I had a bleed twice and why my water broke so early. With My first baby I was induced at 41 weeks so I never went into labour at all, and he was a chunky 9lbs1oz!😅

So, I have been intense pressure in my pelvis and butt (like I have to poop but I don't), kicks are feeling lower, I immediately have to pee whenever I sit up straight, and something keeps attacking my vagina. Could he be ready to rock already? He is LGA so I'm thinking maybe his head is extra heavy and gravity brought him down

I just wanted to give some reassurance in case anyone else was or is in this position, I went for an early scan thinking I was 6 weeks and they only saw the sac & yolk no fetal pole I was advised to wait 2 weeks and come back which we did today and there they were little heart beat too! And I’m measuring 6weeks 3 days so I’m more then a week and half earlier then I thought!!

Hey all!
I’ve just had my 20 week scan at exactly 20 weeks! Baby boy measuring at 21 weeks 4 days all healthy!
The sonographer said I had an anterior placenta, yet when we had a private gender scan at 15 weeks 5 days they said it was posterior!
Now I have NO idea 😆
Has anyone else experienced this?
I’m feeling baby kicking and have done since about 18 weeks 5 days!
