Do you serve like a meal at a baby shower or just appetizers and desserts? When I search it up I only see like small snacks or appetizers and desserts. And around what time do you host? Like afternoon or evening?

Yess usually you have to feec your guest and baby showers can start anytime really. I noticed most star after 1pm

We did a brunch. So we had breakfast food like French toast bake fruit a couple egg dishes and then light lunch foods like sliders and veggies and other snacks.

I had pizza at mine. Cheap and quick

If it’s mostly family and close friends you could make it a potluck with food and treats. That makes it easy and for me I love bringing something for the party too!

My baby shower was a family event with Males and Females, the males were definitely not going to survive with the finger food so I did both meals and finger food. I guess it would depend on your type of event and the people invited. :)

It depends on what time you are having it and for how long. If you have it at a normal lunch time (11-1) then yes you need to feed the ladies lunch. If you have it around 2pm and it is over by 4 then just light refreshments is fine. Same goes with breakfast and dinner times. I chose to have mine at an off hour not to be cheap but because I didn't want to spend time eating a meal.

It really depends on you and what you’re used to. Mine started at 6 pm and most people didn’t get there until 8. It ended around 1 am. And I’m Mexican so we had a full course meal. My family would have gotten offended if I did finger foods. But I’ve gotten to plenty where it was just finger foods and I think it’s fine.

Since we are being forced to have a shower, we will just be doing finger foods versus a meal in the early afternoon in hopes that people won’t linger and we can get home faster 🤷🏻♀️😂😐

It's totally up to you and when you are throwing the shower. We had ours from 4-7pm on the terrace of an Italian restaurant and there were appetizers, cocktails, and then a sit down meal. A good rule of thumb is if it's being held during normal meal times, it's best to serve one. If its not then just finger foods is totally fine

My in laws threw my baby shower. Was a Saturday between 12-2 or so. They ordered take out from a local restaurant, pastas, chicken dishes, bread, only dessert was the baby shower cake

I had a lot of food at my shower, was worried I wouldn’t have enough but there was a lot. Appetizers, pizzas, salads, meat, to be honest I had all kinds of food. Really wish I ate more that day, LOLOL.

Thank you everyone for the responses!! I havent been to a baby shower so I don't really know much! Just what I've seen on pinterest!

The only one i went to had meals
