I signed up for NS&I as they are backed by the treasury... I think the rate was 3.25% variable which is pretty average

Hey girl! I am a licensed agent and work with a financial firm. We help people make and save money! We actually have products that not only keep your money in a savings account, but also compound and gain tax free income as well. If you’re interested my phone number is 4076763220! I’d love to talk to you more in depth 😊

Hi I'm from the UK ladies, are you from the UK?

I'm from the UK. We didnt do an ISA but have set up a kids saving account with Halifax. It locks the money away each year so much the same as an ISA and the interest rate is 4.5%! You have to pay in each month but only Ā£10 minimum šŸ˜ŠšŸ‘ You can set it up online, it's super easy.

We don’t have an isa but Halifax have a superb Children’s saver . The Intrest for the first year is unbeatable .

Check out Martin Lewis ā€˜ money page im sure he has something on ISAs for kids

I've just set up an ISA with moneyfarm for my and my husbands future. As ISA can only be in one name, this one is in mine, and my husband will be setting one up in his name nearer the due date to save money for our girl. We are doing it in his name as if it was a JISA she would get it as soon as she turns 18, which we don't want happening. For both the ISAs we are doing high risk longterm investment, meaning over time the value will grow far more than in a highstreet bank saving account

I personally would sign him up for a help to buy isa if you’re in the uk! You only have till 30th November to sign up so I’m signing my entire family up for one each once we’ve moved house tomorrow! The government contributes a % every year based on how much you’ve saved and it means baby will be in much better stead to buy a home when he/she’s an adult unlike myself who has never had any savings and is having to start from scratch at 25! Unless of course you’re not saving for that purpose. No brainer for me personally.

Yes. I went with Lloyds Bank children's ISA. Seems okay I guess. I've only just opened it but seems good. X

What's an ISA

Avatar

In the UK and Halifax JISA for me too!!

Avatar

The ISAs that I seen weren't worth while in the end! I opted for opening accounts for them through BOS. I have them attached to my own and I can put in and take whenever needed :) when they hit 18, whatever is left in there will be their birthday money lolx

Is Halifax available in the US?

My 2 are with halifax.junior isa.cant break into till there 18.
Good thing about havin online banking.i can transfer money into there acount each month

Hi I’m a branch manager for nationwide. We have decided against an isa as yes you can get a slightly higher rate opening a junior isa however once the child reaches 18 they have full access to the money without your say so. I’ve seen some naughty children who have spent their mam/dads hard earned savings 😳
We just decided on a future saver account for our little one as means we have total control and can then choose when to give it to her x

Is this only in Europe?

The prufund through link asset finance has a good growth rate but I can't remember off the top of my head what the age is for it?
Parmenion have good junior ISAs.
I also can't remember if you need a finance adviser for either of them but it's usually a low charge if any for kids accounts x

Halifax do a good one

So £80 per month is in a building society with interest 0.5% what is better this interest or a ISA ran by Stocks and Shares with medium risk? This payment of £80 per month will be ongoing for the next 4 years.

What would you say is better

Avatar

Halifax monthly kids saver. Interest u get is 4.5 percent.

Avatar

If u bottle feed, imo it’s ok to rinse the bottle and parts with really Hott water instead of thouroughky cleaning it every time! Xoxo congratulations!

Avatar

Really depends on your goals and risk management.
I have just done a big research on Junior ISAs.
The best one I found for cash ISA is Coventry Building society. 3.6% pa.
And the other one is Hargreaves lansdown for stocks and shares ISA. They actually let you pick your own stocks which I very much like. However, the pricing options need improvement. Not too happy about Ā£5.99/trade but unfortunately it’s the best offer out there.

I will do a mix of cash and shares.
However, I am wondering if a cash ISA makes sense since the inflation will eat up the little return it generates.

We are opening up an account and buying our baby premium bonds instead with the money she’s been gifted. There’s no interest but you can earn more on your money should you win on any of your bond numbers. My husband has had his for 3 months and won Ā£75 already.

I've open an investment called nutmeg. And also a savings bank account for my LG

that's so great

It’s a savings account which gathers interest.

Has anyone else had issues with their friends that aren't pregnant or have kids?

I have a friend at work and we've become really close over the years. But ever since I become pregnant she just doesn't understand anything I'm going through which is fine except for the fact that the past few days I have been exhausted physically and socially. We have been helping another friend out for about a month now and we've had to keep him entertained as he's going through a rough time right now and it's drained me socially . my friend at work is frustrated because I'm not talking a lot and I'm exhausted and she doesn't understand why and I'm just curious if anybody else has had issues with friends that are not going to the same thing or have gone through the same thing as you connecting with you because she's literally mad at me. She stopped talking to me at work today and I just don't understand what to do.

STD rates and body count

Saw an interesting video and I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this topic!

So std rates are at an all time high as we all know. Do you think the mindset that body count doesn’t matter has contributed to the significant increase of STDs and HIV?

Secondly if someone says that body count doesn’t matter do you believe they are less likely to practice safe sex compared to people who believe in more traditional values?

I can’t put all the combinations in the poll so feel free to comment just yes/no answers

(If you’re going to reply please keep your responses respectful and polite.)
