Follicles burst before egg retrieval

Hi all! Has anyone experienced burst follicles before the egg retrieval? I had my trigger shot 36hrs before the retrieval, then an hour before the retrieval I started having quite bad cramps. After the retrieval the doctor told me they retrieved 6 eggs out of 12 follicles, the rest was empty and likely burst beforehand. I'm really gutted - it feels like if I went there just an hour earlier, I could have had 12 of them.. Now we have 4 fertilized eggs (other 2 bad quality) and I'm really really worried if any will survive till day 5... 😔

I’m sorry it didn’t go as planned. They won’t burst but there is a possibility that not every follicle contains an egg. That would me it was a cyst. So that’s what it sounds like you had.

God will take control, be calm.

I had this happen on my first and last retrieval. Usually with a standard antagonist, there isn't enough time for the eggs to develop. I also have low amh. But 4 is a good # for us low AMH gals. Hoping that one of these sticks for you.

Depending on the size of the follicle, if it’s too big you can lose them before egg retrieval! This is pretty common

I’ve read that every follicles contains an egg however if the eggs are immature or abnormal they won’t detach from the follicle wall during retrieval. I went in expecting 15 eggs and walked out only having retrieved 5. I was told this was normal. All 5 fertilized and we are on day 5 now. I just got the call that they aren’t at blastocyst stage yet however they are close and they’re allowing them to grow until tomorrow 🤞🏻 I wish you the best!

I was getting pretty painful period cramps and during those, I had painful lower back cramps. I had these on and off for like a few hours so from about 10:30pm to 1am?

I’ve had no show, or anything like that.

My little girl tonight, has spun herself so she is lying sideways in her next to me, making me panic!

I’ve had on/off mild period cramps since 9 last night, very irregular and very mild, but I just had one that woke me up. My waters haven’t gone and nor has my mucous plug… but could this be a sign that it’s close?! I’m 40+3 and desperate to meet her!

Early waters/pre term labour?

I can’t get checked until later today unfortunately. I can’t tell if I’m leaking/starting early. I definitely think I’m having braxton hicks yesterday and today.. i have some pain in my back but she is quite low down so hoping it’s just pressure, baby was a little quieter yesterday but she’s back to more normal movements today, but my underwear just seems to get so wet, especially after going to the bathroom. And I honestly can’t work out the smell, I’m pretty sure it’s just discharge/urine leaking but there’s that worry in my mind a little. Are there any other ways to know/check if it could be the start of it all?
