Pockets on Baby's Sleeves?

What are the pockets on the sleeves of baby clothes used for? I can't find a straight answer, lol.
P.S. I haven't had my first baby yet. I am asking in advance. No need to laugh at me, thanks. 👌

Fold them over to become built in scratch mittens

Avatar

You flip it over the hands and use them as mittens

Avatar

There fold over mittens to stop baby scratching them self, they are so helpful x

Avatar

They are to prevent baby from scratching themselves... i wondered the same thing too and one of the onesies i bought had a tag that explained it 😂 i was like oooo okayyyy

Avatar

Yep you flip it over and it becomes a mitten. Prevents baby from scratching their face.

Avatar

Just for little snacks for later & some quarters for gum balls😂😂💀

Avatar

I love these things! I lost so many mittens with my oldest.. along with socks. Whoever came up with this is a genius!

Mittens

Pretty everyone said it but fold and the baby has mittens. These were my favorite. The individual mittens babies usually take them off.

Also on baby vests the overlap design at the neck allows you to pull it down over shoulders instead if over the head if your baby has an explosive nappy 👍 so useful!

Avatar

There used as scratch mits hun x

Avatar

Haha they aren’t pockets they flip over babies hands to keep warm and keep them from scratching themselves

I think post baby, even pre baby some people can be a bit sensitive..

I dont think the sleeve thing is a big deal, i used to think it was a cuff. For fashion. 🤣 🤣 🤣

Then the CNA at the pediatrician's office with my first flipped them over because my daughter was scratching me and she was trying to help.

Did I feel dumb? Of course!
I even went a step further and got annoyed at the woman just flipping them over. I was overreacting.

All I thought was;

" who the hell told this bit*h to touch my baby, and her sleeve! Fu*kin bit*h"

Granted, I was 19 at the time and thought I knew everything from two baby books.

Its a learning curve for everyone having a baby.

Please take it with a grain of salt.

Also my haha was just laughing at all the things I’ve been confused at. Not at the question. I just had my first 7 months ago and figure out new weird things all the time. Like the yellow stripe on babies diaper turns blue when it’s wet....I never even noticed that it changed😂 I think also the being exhausted and over tired doesn’t help. I had baby brain so bad that I was standing at my front door clicking my car key clicker wondering why it wasn’t working 🤣 and showed up to my job 30 minutes early one morning thinking tht was the time I was suppose to be there even though I had been there 10 months and had the same hours every morning 😂 but definitely don’t feel bad not knowing little things like that....I’m just jealous we don’t have shirts like that lol

Avatar

Haha 🤣🤣 I love this!! I called them pockets too when I had my first 8 years ago! Best thing invented as he didn't keep his scratch mits on! Now we're expecting our second and Im excited to actually use them! 🤣 Don't worry about how others comment its not worth it were not all "super mums" as they think they are, you'll learn as you go I certainly did and I was a qualified nursery worker! X

Built in mittens to stop them scratching their face

Avatar

They turn into mittens :)

Avatar

They are to make them mittens. So the baby won’t scratch the face . So fold them over there hands

Avatar

It’s ok to ask, we can’t know everything as first time mothers. Their like mittens to prevent baby from scratching.

Congratulations on baby and good luck hun xx

Avatar

Flip them up to create a mitten

Avatar

I have had 4 babies and I.....never knew this 😂😂

Avatar

So you can fold them over their little hands. Helps to keep them from scratching themselves. 💕

Avatar

They're like mittens attached to their baby clothes so they can't pull them off hahaha... Revolutionary x

Avatar

Omg I absolutely love this question. This took me back to when I was expecting my first child. 💕💕💕5 kids later I seem to still have questions. Let’s you know the question never stops. Congratulations

Avatar

They’re mittens. You just flip them over on the baby’s hands and your good to go. I actually find these more helpful then the actual mittens.

Avatar

My boy is 8 months old and I still use them because it’s cold at night now it keeps his hands warm 🥰 after the 6-12 month sizing most brands stop putting the mittens on them though 😩

Avatar

My daughter is 3.5 months and I use them when she goes to bed because she has a habit of scratching her face during the night.

Avatar

Yes!! These are amazing I literally only got clothes that had these built in mittens, I didn’t get any regular baby mittens one more thing for me to lose to the sock/wash monster🤣

Avatar

They aren’t pockets dear 😅 I thought the same thing when I first saw those!

Avatar

They are to make mittens you fold them over silly

Avatar

I wish they made for teethers instead my 6 month old is always knawing on her hands they only make them on 0-3 months

Avatar

Mittens! Fold em down

Avatar

Its mittens

Avatar

😂😂😂😂

Avatar

They're built in mittens
You fold them over babys hands so they can't scratch themselves

Avatar

They are also great when you are breast feeding because some times little hands like to scratch or grab onto your sensitive skin. Baby nails are like claws!

Avatar

Built in mittens most baby grows have them xx

Avatar

They are mittens I never used them as it reduces senses in babies hands

Avatar

This is the cutest funniest question 😂

Avatar

Guess you got it now. You’ll remember this forever. It’s ok. 👍🏽🤪

Avatar

Mittens :)

Avatar

Haha no worries. I always used it like if I had a clip for her pacifier I would put it on that

Avatar

They fold over and become mittens

Has anyone else had issues with their friends that aren't pregnant or have kids?

I have a friend at work and we've become really close over the years. But ever since I become pregnant she just doesn't understand anything I'm going through which is fine except for the fact that the past few days I have been exhausted physically and socially. We have been helping another friend out for about a month now and we've had to keep him entertained as he's going through a rough time right now and it's drained me socially . my friend at work is frustrated because I'm not talking a lot and I'm exhausted and she doesn't understand why and I'm just curious if anybody else has had issues with friends that are not going to the same thing or have gone through the same thing as you connecting with you because she's literally mad at me. She stopped talking to me at work today and I just don't understand what to do.

STD rates and body count

Saw an interesting video and I’d love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this topic!

So std rates are at an all time high as we all know. Do you think the mindset that body count doesn’t matter has contributed to the significant increase of STDs and HIV?

Secondly if someone says that body count doesn’t matter do you believe they are less likely to practice safe sex compared to people who believe in more traditional values?

I can’t put all the combinations in the poll so feel free to comment just yes/no answers

(If you’re going to reply please keep your responses respectful and polite.)

31 weeks pregnant and lonely

How to deal with loneliness in pregnancy when your boyfriend goes out with his friends drinking 😅🥲 I only have three friends, two are never really free and one lives back in Liverpool and has her own set of friends where she goes to raves and goes on holiday with them lol. My boyfriend is going out soon for the night as it’s sunny and I’ll just be sat here crying like every single time! When does it stop 🤣
