Was your baby’s movements during pregnancy any reflection on how they were out of the womb?

I swear my baby is somersaulting in my tummy and just constantly moving around.
At every scan he would wiggle around so much, they struggled to get good angles and measurements (although I always got good photos!)

Just wondered if his movements in the womb are what I should expect when he’s here too? 😂

For me yes absolutely. My son was always kicking non stop. During the day and night. My partner at night if I was big spoon or little he would say he felt his kicks on his back or his hand and question how I even slept through it. When he was born he used to always jurk his arms up like every 5 minutes it was so cute and I thought I bet he did this all the time in the womb. My son is now coming up to 9 months and he is so energetic. He loves army shuffling to everything, looking and touching stuff. Hes playful and so happy just as I assumed he would be from his big kicks 24/7

Yes for me too. My daughter was super wiggly. I used to joke that she had regular drum circles on my belly. Even very young she moved soo much. I dad would say man that is the movingest baby I’ve ever seen lol

Avatar

Yes! My son moved constantly while in my belly. We were there for hours at my 20 week scan. The tech said he was the hardest baby to scan because he would not stop moving. Now that he’s 2, he is a non stop mover. He just now decided that he doesn’t need naps and he just wants to go, go, go! Send help! I am not ok!! 🤣

Avatar

Yes!! My daughter was super active my entire pregnancy and I felt like I never got a break😂 and it still feels that way she is always on the go very active lots of energy and loooooooves to talk hahaha and she is 5!! Good news is she is also pretty self reliant now so if I'm busy doing chores and cant play for a while she will create her own games and play by herself until my husband or myself is available!!

Avatar

So in conclusion: Yes. 😂😩

Thanks for the warning ladies!

At first yes my little boy kept a similar routine. When I was pregnant he use to kick around loads between 1 and 4 am and when he arrived for the first week he woke up at that time every night Ha! Changed around 12 weeks xxx

Avatar

Yes for me definitely xx when he was born and was moving around I recognised all the movements ❤️

Avatar

Absolutely! Lol with my first every ultra sound or visit the doctor tried listening to his heart beat he would literally jump from side to side 😂 doctor told me one day to get my sneakers ready and boy has my son lived up to that. He’s 2 1/2 now. Pregnant with #2 (due in nov) and this little guy keeps me up practically all night moving 😅

Avatar

Yes, mine was like yours and she's always kicking her legs and waving her arms about now she's out. I'm going to struggle to keep up when she starts being mobile 😂

Avatar

For me no. My daughter barely moved in the womb she was very chill. Now shes CRAZY and doesnt stop going.

Lol I'm the odd one out I guess

Avatar

Yes! All five

Avatar

The first time I saw my son at six weeks he was somersaulting and looked like he was an Olympic swimmer he’s literally the same way now especially in the pool it’s so funny he’s 1

Avatar

Oh my God, yes. My daughter was constantly on the move in my tummy (even at the end she went from breech to transverse to head down and back again countless times) and now she's my little squirmy wormy! She's always on the move, until she exhausts herself and takes a nap lol

Avatar

For me, YES!!! My son used to kick all day & night. & now he’s super hyper & rambunctious. He squirms around anytime he’s being held or when he’s getting a bath. He’s an energetic little thing

Avatar

Haha my lil monkey was always moving in the womb, and now he’s a real mover!

Avatar

My first never moved in belly. The doctors would scare the heck out of me over it. He didn’t really move until the third trimester. Now he’s 3, but I’ll say this. He was an early achiever at EVERYTHING. He crawled at 5 months, walked at 9 months, potty trained early. List goes on. Now I’m pregnant with second and this one won’t stop moving in my belly! He has been since 18 weeks. But I don’t take the movement too seriously on what it could mean at all. Who knows! Lol

Avatar

Yes, my baby is very chill, sometimes goes nuts. But also very independent.

People always asked “don’t you feel a deep connection? Like she needs you.” I never did during pregnancy and she is a very independent child.

Avatar

For my first daughter, I didn’t feel movement til about 18-20 weeks. I felt movement at 14 weeks with my second baby girl. She is sooo active kicking us her thing. And she did that inside and outside of the womb, funny you ask, my 7 year old did summersaults inside the womb and now she does them outside all the time.

Avatar

I honestly barley felt my son move during the whole pregnancy I had an anterior placenta but I did feel movements on the side and during ultrasounds this little boy was active he would flip and kick at the wand 😂😂

Avatar

I could always feel her hiccuping (even during labor) and she gets hiccups about twice a day still (6 months old)

Avatar

My daughter was constantly moving and her legs are arms were going non stop! It’s been the same since she came out lol

Avatar

When I was pregnant with my son, he was constantly somersaulting and kicking me, and just plain flailing. I even had a nurse once marvel over the fact that he didn’t stay still for 3 minutes straight while she was trying to monitor him via sonogram. And he was asleep at the time. 😂

Now he is 5 months and extremely active! He loves to kick, flail, try to stand, bounce, etc. I think there is a chance he may walk before he crawls! 😩

Avatar

1000%. My child didn’t stop in the womb constant kicks and elbows. Nothing new 16months out of utero

Avatar

Yes. The last few months of pregnancy mine would maybe twice a day kick me repeatedly in the ribs. It was soooooo uncomfortable. Now she still does exactly the same when she's trying to get to sleep. Has to push her feet against something.

Avatar

Yes! My daughter was having the time of her life in womberland. Especially with the kicking of her feet. She still kicks her feet like crazy 🤦🏾‍♀️

Avatar

My son kicked a lot and moved a lot in my belly fast forward 6 months he’s crawling lunging standing siting crazy movements

Avatar

Absolutely. My daughter moved a lot on the inside and moves a lot now on the outside

Avatar

When I was pregnant with my first my son seemed to move non stop. When he was just a little bean he was shooting all over the screen like a crazy water bug. I never had to kick count because he was never inactive long enough. He would poke and push in such odd ways I would swear there had to be two babies in there. What he was doing didn’t seem possible, AND I had an anterior placenta AND I felt his first movements incredibly early. After he was born he was just how one would expect. He was lifting his head up on his own day one in the hospital, always wanted to be held up right over my shoulder so he could look around (as opposed to cradled like a baby), took his first steps on his own at seven months... and at three he is still bouncing off the wall, adventurous, very physical little boy.

My second baby I did not feel until much later (even with an anterior placenta), he would kick and move about and was active like any baby but... it felt more normal. He also was a calmer baby.

Avatar

Yep. My first had constant hiccups and she had awful reflux. My second was constantly moving, and he's a big ol wiggle worm.

Avatar

My little one was breech and her legs and hands were always covering her face in our ultrasounds, she certainly has her favorite sleeping position and it looks just like when she was in the womb.

She was also a pretty quiet baby with little movement during the day but got very active when I laid down for bed...she now sleeps fabulous during the day and nights are a bit rough!

Avatar

Mine was super chill in the womb swear she barely ever moved and she’s still pretty chill at a year and a half in the mornings, before nap, and before bed. she’s rarely ever super hyper. Her cousin on the other hand is hyper as soon as she wakes up lol!

Avatar

Some days like yesterday he is very active, def doing some sports in there lol. Other days he is more quiet

Avatar

In my belly Mason flipped and kicked and constantly. Now, he moves non stop. He’s been walking since 9 months and I can hardly keep up. Good luck!

Avatar

Omg LET ME TELL YOU. This boy moved so much in my belly. Now being out, all he wants to do is GO GO GO! We take walks twice a day and I play with him by letting him standing on his legs to jump and dance. Mind you, he's 4 months now. We take him for adventures to different beaches and trails for walking and he LOVES it so much!

He also made me sooo freaking hungry all the time which didn't happen with my first kid. Now out of the womb, he's cluster feeding like all the time. I feed him every 2 hours, breastfeeding, except for at night now because he can sleep a little longer.

Avatar

Yes 100%. My daughter was so active in my tummy and still is now at 17 months. She also woke me up at 5am every morning kicking me. Now she wakes me up at 5am crying 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Avatar

100%! I was worried my whole pregnancy as the baby wasn’t moving much and now I have the most relaxed and chilled baby :)

Avatar

My daughter was so active in the womb; I nicknamed her Mary Lou (Retton). Even the doctors asked if she slept. She was constantly moving. She’s 4 months old and is still as active.

Avatar

My baby would stretch his legs out in my belly all the time! And he was seriously a kicker - turns out I would be too if I was 9#9oz and at 21 inches because he loves to stretch his legs out and he's only two weeks old, he did not approve of the tight swaddles !

Avatar

Yep. I had 4 bouts of reduced movement monitoring. He would never go kung-fu mode, it literally would be him moving to get comfy and then relax again and this is exactly how is he is 2 weeks into been with us. He is the most content, chilled baby i ever met and he is my 3rd xx

Avatar

Nope. Super chill in the womb and now she's a wild woman!😂

Avatar

Omg yes! At least for me. My 3 year old was sooo active. I felt like he was always moving or changing positions.
He was even flipping back and forth between breech and transverse until literally the day before I had him.
He is still my little rebel, and super adventurous, and loves gymnastics 😂

Avatar

I’m wondering the same thing! It seems like he’s moving around non stop.

Avatar

Yes! My little guy moved sooo much during my pregnancy. The nurses always said they’ve never seen such an active baby. He’s always been an on the move baby. Constantly wants to go go go!

Avatar

My daughter didn’t move too much and if she did it was at night or to tell me to eat something lol. But she’s definitely a night owl like me! When she wakes up in the middle of the night it’s hard to get her back down and out play mode lol

Avatar

So it seems like a crap shoot- I guess we’ll just have to see.

Avatar

Not for me. My son was always hiding and would not move in scans, really stubborn! He also didn’t kick that much either. Now he’s here he’s always kicking and wriggling around!

Avatar

My son was somewhat quiet in the womb, probably an average amount of movement give or take a couple days where he would NOT settle 😂 now he’s a mad man, I really don’t know where he gets the energy

Avatar

My 1st i dint rele feel him move he was born early and was very content x my second baby loads of movement during pregnancy and she is also content sleeps thro night but she does wriggle about in her sleep 😄🤗 good luck and congrats x 😘💖🤗

Avatar

My son barely moved around and pooped inside me with the same face he makes now at 2. And he’s lazy.

Avatar

My girl is very active and is constantly moving so when she is silent for an hour or so, I freak out lol

Do active babies in the womb become active newborns?

I had my 40 week ultrasound yesterday (on my due date) and the doctor mentioned how active my baby is. Curious as to your experiences regarding if your baby was active in the womb, are they likely to be active when they’re newborn? 😊

Early Labour?

I’m 34 weeks today, since 3am I’ve been having irregular cramping which becomes quite intense and has caused me to vomit. I’ve also had diarrhoea. Could I be in early labour or could I just have a bad stomach? I feel generally well in myself

28wk5days growth scan📈

I’ve just been to my first growth scan as my bump was measuring small, for the lady to say that baby should be between 2pound 2ounces - 2pound 5ounces and my baby is measuring 2pound 15ounces which is above average, any one else has similar measurements?x

Gender at 16 weeks

I’ve just had a scan at 16 weeks and asked the sonographer if she could tell the sex, and three little lines were visible! She said she’s 80% certain it’s a girl, but to clarify at the 20 week scan.
How likely do you think she is to be right? I saw the little “hamburger lines” myself too.

Can you tell with my scan photos using the nub theory??
