Headaches during pregnancy

I’m currently 15 weeks pregnant with my first child - for the last week or so I’ve been suffering every day with bad headaches. Has anyone else had this? What’s the best thing to do to combat them?

I’ve had the same and I’m 14 weeks 3 day! Like really bad migraines
The nurse said to take paracetamol and drink water because you’re probably dehydrated but I’d keep an eye on it because it could be the start of preeclampsia also xxxx

Yeah I have too, I thought maybe it’s withdrawal from caffeine.. a nap seems to help but they still aren’t nice at all!!

I had these all the way through. Never showed any other pre-eclampsia signs so midwife said it was probably just hormonal.
Paracetamol and drinking water helped but it’s just another pregnancy anomaly for me 😂

I had headaches in first trimester and early in second. I was told these were normal. Later in second and third they can be linked to pre eclampsia but the main signs for that are high blood pressure and protein in urine. I was advised by my doctor that if they were bad I could take ibuprofen in first and second as they only carry risk in third. I took them only when absolutely necessary and that would be if all other things didn't work. If you dont have any risks you should be fine to take them if you double check. X

Can I just ask if your headaches got any better? I've been suffering with them too. Had one all weekend, a constant throbbing pain in my head. Paracetamol didn't help. Just sat in my room with the curtains on as the light hurts a little. They really do suck. 18w tomorrow for me, how are you all doing now?

Im 11 weeks and Iv had bad headaches for almost 2 weeks every days. Yesterday it was so bad I was sick. I spent the whole day in bed in and out of sleeping. Paracetamol every 4 hours helps keep migraines away. Not had it this bad in other 2 pregnancies. Out of interest what gender baby are you ladies having? Wondering if it could be a cause hormonally?

I’ve just turned 12 weeks today and for five days straight had a headache, sore eyes and pain in my jaw (I sometimes grind my teeth in the night). It’s awful but I’m pleased it seems common as I was worried! I go on you tube and look at self massage for headaches and there’s some great videos that get you to massage pressure points. Gives a little bit of a relief for a while! x

I’ve been suffering from a migraine for almost 24 hours now- anyone have tips beyond Tylenol? I’ve never had luck with it working pre-pregnancy, and now it seems to have zero effect.

Omg! I’m in week 14 and headache started last week! It helps if I sleep and eat. Weird thing: I ate cauliflower and it made it worse. Should I tell my OB?

Same here. 15 weeks pregnant with constant headache for the last week. I have been doing yoga, pressure points massage and cold compress but it doesn't give as much relief as a regular pain killer. Paracetamol has never really done much for my headaches before pregnancy leave alone now 🤕

I’m getting bad headaches often. Currently 14 weeks. I’ve been trying to sleep first and rest but then take Panadol. The throbbing is bad so I usually put a light hearted movie on to distract me so I can sleep.

Hi ladies 19 weeks today, having headaches so bad like never before. Ended up in a&e on boxing day, slightly low blood sugar and dehydrated..
Got put on a drip and got given codine (bit shocked but worked)
Have only had a few since but suffering bad today with another serious headache. I have to sit in the dark and just drink water, I've tried eating a few natural Sugary things to.
Really wish I didn't keep getting them as finding it hard to enjoy the pregnacy as much as I could be!
Anyone else stuck on whay to do
