Low laying placenta

Hey! I've had my 20 week scan today and the midwife said my placenta is almost covering my cervix. They booked me in at 32 weeks to check again but this is really worrying me as I don't want a C-section. Has this moved for anyone else at this point?

Yes I had the same thing with my last pregnancy and by my next ultrasound it had moved up and out of the way. And I was able to go on to have a normal delivery.

I have a low laying placenta at 16 weeks. My OB said it’s nothing to worry about right now because the good thing is the placenta will only grow up. It won’t go down any further. So they will recheck me at 21 weeks

My placenta was higher up at 16 weeks but now it's moved down and almost covering my cervix. After reading about it I'm worried 🙉

Same position waiting for the shift. I’m nearly 25 weeks. So time will tell. Remember all bodies are different though. I keep telling my little “bucket” to try and shift it over 😂

Hey! I just had my scan today and was told the same thing. I actually just posted this same question 😂
I was super sad and couldn’t stop crying because I don’t want a c section. But similar to you the sonographer was really calm and said it’s not a major concern. So we can only hope.
Wishing you all the best! x

I found out I have this today and I will be rescanned at 32 weeks as well! 9 out 10 placentas move so it’s not an issue! And if you’ve never had any c sections or surgery of the womb before then you’re still classed as low risk! I’m not worrying about it and see it as an extra opportunity to see baby at 32 weeks! And if it doesn’t move then at least you should get to meet baby sooner!!

Would you take your almost 4 yr old to a birthday party at an indoor play place during spring break, with a 10 week old baby?

I know it will be crowded as heck since it’s during spring break. I’ll be holding my 10 week old the whole time but nervous that we might get sick from being inside with all those people for so long

Group B Strep positive labor and baby

Hi,
First time mom to be here, currently around 37 weeks.
Can anyone please share their experience of labor and how was the baby health in the first weeks, months when tested positive for GBS and receiving antibiotics during labor?
I was blessed to not have any serious complications during whole pregnancy and was really looking forward to unmedicated easy-ish birth hopefully and healthy baby but now is concerned about me being able to stay mobile during labor and having side effects for antibiotics, and for baby to have microbiome negative affects due to antibiotics taken..
Any insights or experience would be helpful.

Pushchairs

Out of curiosity, have we turned babies forward facing in their push chairs yet? I’ve kept her facing me as I’d rather see her 😅 I assume it doesn’t matter either way? (7 months on the 8th)

Hormone drip

I’m being induced on Wednesday, with my first baby I was induced but I can’t remember if I had the hormone drip as I was so out of it from gas and air and pethidine.

Can I refuse it this time? As I’ve heard it makes contractions more painful, or can I say if I do need the hormone drip, I will need an epidural can the 2 coincide?
