Adenomyosis

Hi everyone! I created this group because I’ve found it to be difficult to connect with others with this diagnosis. From my research, it is becoming more common as testing becomes more advanced. It’s unclear exactly how adenomyosis affects fertility which makes it a frustrating diagnosis. I’m hoping that science catches up with us ASAP and in the meantime that we can learn from each other.

Thanks Tina for setting up this group.
I had a laparoscopy in December for a cyst and polyp removal, and suspected endometriosis. After surgery I was told these was no endometriosis but I had quite a bulky uterus and actually had adenomyosis. I have been reading about this as have been TTC, but like you struggling to connect with others with this diagnosis x

Hello. I’ve been trying to conceive for 14 months now and just found out that I have Adenomyosis. Was wondering if anyone else who has had this diagnosis has conceived naturally and gone on to have a healthy baby? I’m starting to panic that I might it be able to get pregnant because of Adenomyosis?

Hi Sarah, we are TTC and I only got my diagnosis recently too. The Gynae and GP said I should start to discuss possible IVF options in another 6 months - I guess they want to see if my recent op has helped. I have read some women have successfully conceived with Adenomyosis - but no harm discussing your options with GP

Hi everyone! So happy to connect with you guys! My mom actually has adenomyosis and I’m one of 4 kids- she never had any miscarriages but the adeno wasn’t diagnosed until later on so not sure if she had it the whole time or developed it later in life. I’ve had 3 losses now and 2 were missed miscarriages with blighted ovum. My RE told me that adenomyosis and it’s connection to fertility isn’t well understood.
I personally am doing 2 more medicated cycles (one more letrozole and then trying injectables) since it takes me a while to get pregnant and then progressing to ivf and using Lupron if the medicated cycles don’t result in a healthy pregnancy. I’m also on progesterone post ovulation which I wasn’t on with the other pregnancies.

It’s so comforting to know there are others out there going through the same thing. When I spoke to the technician who did my HSG she said they would likely move me straight to IVF rather than trying medicated cycles but I will wait and see what the doctor says on the 20th. Think that could be due to my husbands low morphology? I’ve seen lots online about how diet changes can affect things with adenomyosis , but nothing seems that reputable if I’m honest, not a lot of scientific evidence for any of the suggestions..

Thanks for making this group. It will be nice to connect with others about TTC and adenomyosis!

Me and my partner are currently trying, we have been for about 13 months. In December, I finally fell pregnant and had a very early miscarriage. I'm sure this is down to my adenomyosis. I am waiting to be referred to the fertility clinic, so fingers crossed 🤞

Going back to work!

Already thinking about this! Told my boss I was pregnant this week at 10 weeks, he was so happy for me. He’s recently became a first time Dad and was showing me pictures of his baby. I told him my plans about going back after 6 months and he looked at me like I was mad, am I!? I absolutely love my job and cannot imagine giving it up, I manage a team and am petrified my position won’t be there if I had a year off. My husband gets 6 months full pay so the plan would be for him to have the last 6 months off and I also made it clear to my boss that I would like to go part time. That way we can hopefully parent together 4/7 days rather than just the weekend! I am such an overthinking! 🤣 but this is what I’m struggling with the most, I’ve worked full time since I was 17 (12 years ago) and the max time I’ve had off in one go is 2 weeks when I got married. I’m sooo excited to be a Mum and we decided now was the right time, which it 100% is! But I feel so on edge about not working! I’m sure once I’m on maternity leave I won’t even think about work! Has anyone else felt the same?

What are we giving our soon-to-be 3yo for their birthdays?

We have the magnetiles, we have the kinetic sand and play doh, we have the play kitchen…

Literally, is there anything left in the world to buy this spoilt kid? 😅

Baby groups?

Hello there!!
I hope you enjoying the 5month babies 🫠 the cuteness outweighs everything over here.
We live in the area of Croydon & need to start going to baby groups ( I NEED it more than him though) but I am a little bit clueless. Any recommendations?
We are happy to travel a bit too.
Thanks ☺️
