Forceps delivery

I had a forceps delivery with it being my first baby, I’m still hurting down there and stinging- been 5 weeks pp. Anyone else have a forceps delivery? How long did it take you to recover?

I had forceps delivery and I was still feeling sore at this point. I can’t remember when it got better, but it’s only temporary :)

I had a forceps delivery and I'd say I completely healed at 6 weeks 🤗

Have u been checked by midwife/health visitor that u dont have an infection?

Avatar

Yeah I had a forceps delivery and I hurt so bad for weeks after my midwife suggested arnica tablets and they were a god send!!

Yeh I had forcep.. it took me a long time. Around 8 weeks I’d say. But everyone heels at different rates. However defo get checked if there’s a smell, itch or discharge.
I used spritz for bits fr second bby and wow. It helped!! U can use witch hazel on pads x

I had a forceps delivery and my midwife told me if things weren’t improving over time to go see her. When I went to get checked out my stitches had come away and I had an infection (easily treated). Maybe give her a ring just to be sure 😊 xx

I had forceps delivery and it took about 10 weeks to heal 😬😬 you'll be healed before you know it though!

Avatar

I had forceps with my first. It took a while, it was sore and stinging for ages, then ached for a little while after x

Avatar

Yes! I had a foreceps delivery and I would say it was 8-10 weeks before I was fully recovered. He was 8.8 and I tore a lot though!

Avatar

Yeah I did with my first baby, it took me about 8 weeks to feel comfortable down there again. I'm currently pregnant with my second and opting for a C section as the labour and recovery last time was horrendous. Even 4 years after having her I still get discomfort in the area of I have walked too far or sat on a hard surface for too long 🙄 xxx

I was sore u til 6 weeks then all healed and could go back to normal. But there was a point when I thought I would never heal. Stay strong your body will heal x

Avatar

I was sore for a good couple of months and had to keep going back and forth to the doctors. Sounds stupid but try and sit/lay as much as you can as the pressure on it will not help. I remember it being the worst pain and feeling like it was never going to get better but it did and I am about to go in for round 2 in a few weeks (hopefully minus the forceps) x

I feel really lucky reading all your replies i had forceps and stayed in hospital for a week but I healer super fast, like midway through my stay i felt so much better and by the time I got home I was almost back to normal. I used spritz for bits every single I went to the loo during my stay in hospital and I swear it helped me heal loads and felt so soothing also

I had forceps and don't remember being in any discomfort for too long after delivery. I do think we had sex after about 8 weeks and I was very aware of my episiotomy scar but I wouldn't say it was painful. Maybe get it checked just in case xx

I had a forceps delivery 10 weeks ago and felt just about normal by about 7 weeks pp and that was with a bunch of stitches too I just had warm showers with non fragrant soaps so it wouldn’t be irritated down there and had my first bath after 8 weeks just to make sure my stitches had definitely healed. Give it another couple of weeks and if your still no better contact your midwife or HV It will get better in time 😊xx

13 weeks before I could walk properly, 18 weeks to heal fully and then it was 6 months before I was completely back to normal.

I had forceps, they cut me and I had a nasty tear I am 6 weeks pp and still quite sore so feel ya pain xx

Avatar

Those forceps are dreadfully nasty things! I had a csection where they had to use forceps, it took about 8 weeks before I could walk without looking a 90 year old and 6 months before I was semi normal 🙈

Avatar

I had forceps and got a 4 degree tear. I was lucky I didn’t suffer with much pain at all but for months if I moved I would feel tender still.

Avatar

I had suction cup and it took 7 months 🤦🏼‍♀️

Avatar

Thanks everyone, I just feel like I’m never going to recover at this point! 🤦🏽‍♀️

About 2 months ... I’ve used an elixir from Holands and barrets, savlon cream and after 6 weeks some beads for Krueger exercises . Gradually when felt better and confident started long walks and swimming ( different world back then) You will heal mama trust your body and don’t stop moving

Avatar

I had forceps and 3rd degree tear. I’m almost 10wks pp and am still pretty tender. I had my 8wk checkup today though and the dr said it’s pretty normal to not feel 100% down there for months and months after. X

Avatar

Is it possible you can ask them not to use forceps ? Like maybe for a c section instead if it gets this bad . I get so nervous about things like this

Avatar

Hey, I had forceps birth and episiotomy, I'd say it was about three months before I felt more normal again and closer to five months when I was completely back to pre baby normal. It feels like it will never be the same at the start but honestly it does get better, it just needs time!

Hi Amanpreet. I had forceps with my first in July and it took 8 weeks for the stinging to ease. What did help was to get a spray bottle filled with warm water so every time I went I would spray up. It cooled the area and did feel better over time. Hope you feel better soon. I thankfully only had the one stitch the doctor was very good. X

Avatar

I had a second degree tear and a forceps delivery Im 4 week postpartum I wouldn’t really say I’m in pain but my clit is very sensitive and sometime when I sit down the wrong way it’ll be painful there but that the only thing it does burn when I pee and I don’t feel any pressure

Hiding my pregnancy tips

I’m currently 17 weeks pregnant and I’m only getting bigger by the week and my home environment isn’t the best because of two people who are constantly saying things behind my back and escalating things are not making me feel safe enough to express my pregnancy.
With that being said, for anyone who had to hide their pregnancy until they felt safe enough to show it to the world what did you do to hide it or protect your peace?

Have you had this experience ?

I had my anatomy scan last week and baby looks great! 🥹 Everything looked normal, which was such a relief. When I reviewed the official report afterward, I noticed a diagnosis code that said “Supervision of high risk pregnancy,” and of course that made me a little nervous.

I messaged my doctor about it, and she explained that technically I’m labeled “high risk” because of my starting pregnancy weight (206 lbs), but she reassured me it’s not something they’re actually concerned about in my case. She emphasized that everything looked great on the ultrasound, baby is healthy, and I’m doing amazing so far.

That definitely made me feel a lot better, but I’m curious—has anyone else been told they’re technically high risk just based on weight around 200 lbs? 🥴

Post partum body pain

Was anyone else's body just destroyed after pregnancy? In a physical sense, not just worried about how it looks.

I am just in pain pretty much all over, I have shooting pains in my feet and ankles, I have what seems to be plantar fascitis and all sorts of foot issues causing me pain but my legs hurt up to my knees most days. I have awful back pain and shooting pains in my pelvis which I wake up with every morning. I'm also exhausted pretty much all of the time.

I used to gym 5/6 days per week lifting weights and now I feel like I can't even climb the stairs most days.

I just want to get back to living my life, not feeling crippled. Has anyone had the same?

Labor

What was everyones first signs of labor? Or how did it start? FTM and I’m unsure if I’m in the early stages of labor.

Is this a good enough reason to consider doing a weight loss pill?

I am a big emotional eater/bored eater. I hate it and Ive tried so much... No matter what anytime I'm bored or sad I can't stop myself.all I think about is food and no matter what or how much I eat I always want more until I literally get sick...Do you think that's a good enough reason to go on weight loss pills?
