My partner and I want five kids. Currently pregnant with first. Due in June. Hoping to start trying again 6 months after max.

I know people with kids 9 months apart! #2 came early so it closed the gap!

Talk to your doc and do what’s best for you and your family!

I would definitely consult your OB, but I unexpectedly got pregnant back to back and am so thankful it happened how it did. I had my first February 2019 and found out I was pregnant again May 2019. I had two boys under 1 for a few days 😂

Avatar

I had my boys 12 months apart (now 2 and 3) and I had a little girl 3 weeks ago. I don't think there's such as a "perfect" age gap, it's just whatever is right for you x

Avatar

My little boy was about 7 months
When we started trying again. I found out I was pregnant a couple of weeks after his first birthday so there will be just over 20 months between them. Do what’s right for your family but do bare in mind that they recommend at least 12-18m between pregnancies as there is an increased risk of complications if there’s a short gap between (but lots of people do have them closer together and are completely fine so do what you feel is right for you)

I had my second 18 months after my first. Theyre a great age gap. We waited 3 years to try again. My oldest is 5, youngest will be 4 in July and I am 21 weeks with our third. We had a hard road conceiving this one after two losses this year. So our hope is after this baby, we have one more healthy baby about 15-18 months apart

Avatar

I had my first four in 6 years, around 18 months between them. We are now pregnant with baby 5 and there’s a 5 1/2 year gap between her and my youngest. It was hard work but I think they have a great age gap and they still do lots together now.
I was never told to wait or anything like that. Do what is best for you and your family ❤️

I got pregnant with my twins when my son was 6 months, ideally I would have waited until he was atleast one. It’s a lot on your body but they all get along great now

Avatar

My older two are 16 months apart my middle and youngest are 18 months apart!

Avatar

We started trying for our second after my first turned 1. Got pregnant a few months later. They are exactly 2 years and 2 weeks apart. I wish we waited a little bit longer honestly but it’s a good gap for us.

I’m now pregnant with our surprise #3 baby and this one will be born when my other two are 5 and 3

Avatar

My son is 11 months now and I’m 14 weeks pregnant with number two. Feeling anxious about it, and I’m sure it will be hard at times, but I do hope they will get along great!

Avatar

I had my little boy in may 2019 and fell pregnant June 2020 just under two years between then when she arrives :)

Avatar

I'm currently pregnant with my second and I'll have both birthdays in June.. a two year old and a newborn if dates are correct 2 years 10 days apart 😳

Avatar

Only you can really decide that i suppose lol 🤷‍♀️ mine are all 6yrs apart, wasnt planned that way just happened x

Avatar

I found out I was pregnant a month after my first turnt one... so by the time was born there was a 22month gap... I have two girls and baby just slotted in and they are so close and it so much easier to adjust to than a large gap x

Avatar

18 months between mine,
In the early stages youngest is 3 months and it is hard- a good support network will help you through.

We wanted a close age gap but was surprised they have ended up this close. Can already see a close bond blossoming between them though and it warms my heart.

Avatar

I had my son in September 2019 and I’m now expecting baby number two in July 2021 so there will be 22 months apart!

Avatar

My friend got pregnant when her first was 3 months old (unplanned). But her girls are super close.

Avatar

There's 14 months between my eldest and my middle child (3 in March and 2 in may) then there's 19 months between my middle and my youngest (obviously my middle is 2 in may and I have a 2 week old baby)

Avatar

I have a 1 year old (birthday is end of January) and I’m due at the end of February with my second 😂 so they will be 13 months apart. I’ve heard it’s hard in the beginning but that it’s worth it. Best of luck to you!

Avatar

My stepson is 5 and my baby is 6 months. My stepson is so helpful and great with him , no jealousy issues at all because he is much older. However, I think I will plan on having another when my baby is around 2 or 3

Avatar

They recommend 12 months minimum, but 18 months being ideal. Especially if you didn’t deliver vaginally. Give your body time to heal.

Avatar

Are you breastfeeding??? Just because it may be more tough to conceive right away while breastfeeding. I conceived when my son was 10 months but ended up miscarrying and now am 21 weeks pregnant with a healthy baby. My boys will be almost 2 years apart.

Avatar

Had my first Jan 2019, second March 2020 and now pregnant with my third due August lmao crazy

Avatar

I had my first son FEB 2020 and my second DEC 2020! It’s hard but worth it

Avatar

I’m pregnant with my second, due in September and my daughter will be 1 next week. I feel like it’s close but not too close!

Avatar

My three youngest are a year apart. It works for me

Avatar

My daugther is 7 months and I’m 16 weeks pregnant. Baby 2 is due 2weeks after first birthday .

Avatar

My son was almost 2 when I fell pregnant with my second. He will be 2.5 years old and I’m due in a few weeks. I like this age gap because I will have the summer with both babies and then my oldest will start nursery in September for a couple of days a week which will help me have some one on one time with my youngest.

Avatar

My youngest two are 19 months apart and are the best of friends

Avatar

My daughter is 2 in a couple of weeks and I'm due in August so will have a 2 and a half year age gap. That's what we wanted, didn't want 2 under 2 or younger but didn't want bigger than a 3 year age gap.
I wanted to give my body time to heal between pregnancies, hormones to get back to normal as possible. And to enjoy my daughter being little.
It's personal preference.

Avatar

My kids are 16 months apart. There’s no rule book, you just have to decide what works for you.

Avatar

We have a three year gap. Lost one in the middle. Ours play well and fight in equal measure though I’m not sure that has anything to do with the age gap. I’m happy with where we are. No matter what the gap it will work out. Good luck!

Avatar

I'm planning to wait 3/4 years, mainly because I want to just soak up all the time I have with my first, then when they are at pre-school/school I'll have similar 1 on 1 time with new baby☺ that's just the way my mind works. At the same time adore seeing siblings that are only a year apart and thinj they'll be such good friends🥲x

Avatar

Mine are 13 months apart it took 6 months to get pregnant after having my first. I was not using in protection and now have my two under two. It’s ALOT of fun! My baby watches her big brother and he is SO good with her. Also I have the baby cuddles all over again. Lol 😂

Avatar

I had two within a year! One jan 2010 one December 2010! Irish twins they are called, they are now 10,11 and so close and hopefully will be throughout their lives! X

Avatar

My daughter was 6 months old *barely* when I fell pregnant with my son, there is 13 months between them and I couldn't love it more if I tried. It had its tough times but they nap together, they do everything together and adore each other. It's incredible watching them grow together

I have a feeling like I might get attacked from this but I’m going to say it anyways. incognito 🥸 GLP1s being mainstream for regular people who are NOT diabetic or morbidly obese is bad for so many reasons 💉💉💉

Side affects, long term dependency, supply shortages and costs, regaining the weight back as soon as you get off them.. all that ASIDE how do people not see just from a zoomed out perspective how crazy it is. I can’t imagine being someone facing food insecurity in an underdeveloped country and watching westerners give themselves daily jabs so they can lose weight while still eating a calorie surplus/ crappy foods. It’s giving hunger games when district 12 Katniss finds out at the party at the capital that people eat and then take a pill to make themselves sick so they can 🤮 and eat some more. These ads running ozempic everywhere are disgusting, and then getting amazing athletes like Serena Williams to push them talking bout “i’ve never been healthier” girl you were an OLYMPIC athlete wym??

Tips for babies with wind issues

My 5 week old has always had issues bringing up all his wind. When he’s laying on his back, he’s always grunting in pain to the point he cries and wakes himself up.

Spoke with a qualified physio who’s also qualified in baby massage and she said try concentric circles on baby. Small circles with a little pressure on their right (your left when facing you) from the bottom of their tummy up to their ribs and then going to the other side and doing the same. Then do the usual leg exercises with them (bicycle kicks, air squats, rotating them side to side etc)

I’ve also found this really helps doing it on my LBs back. I either use my thumb or two fingers when he’s up against me. I do both sides from bottom to top in small circles. He moves around and makes the grunting noises when I first do it but burps come out and after about 4/5 times he stops moving around or grunting at all and it’s meant he’s actually slept on his back and not had to cosleep!
