Subchorionic Hematoma

So today I went for my 12 week scan, after having heavy bleeding at 10 weeks I have an early scan at 11 weeks that confirmed I had a subchorionic hematoma, today they have said that it is 1/3 of babys sac, and that I have high risk pregnancy....

I need to hear some positive stories from having a subchorionic hematoma, can anybody help ease my anxiety and fears😭😫

I had one that was found on my first scan at 6 weeks. I went for a follow up at 9 weeks and it was still there. I forget if it had grown or not. By my 12 week scan it was gone.

I had one with my second. I normally have some bleeding during my pregnancies but it was much more from the hematoma. Went back for a scan at 12 weeks and it had healed itself.

I also had one of these and found out I was having twins very early as I was bleeding heavily, eventually the bleeding stopped and it healed itself they are now happy healthy one year olds, hope all goes well for you it is worrying 🤗

I found at I was pregnant at 5 weeks then shortly after started bleeding, I got sent for a early scan at 6 weeks and they found the hematoma, they rebooked me for 8 weeks to keep an eye on it and it had totally gone by then! I had bleeding from 5.5 weeks to 7.5 weeks because of the hematoma. Xx

I had a huge bleed while sitting in the park with a friend at about 11 weeks.. went to A&E and they said I was having a miscarriage but I had to wait 3 days for a scan to confirm. Went for the scan and by some miracle there was baby kicking around!
They found the SCH and by my 20 week scan they found a second one.. I had bleeding through my whole 2nd trimester and had to go on modified rest & pelvic rest which was super hard but finally the bleeding stopped and they SCHs are gone! I've been having regular growth scans and consultant appointments and finally now at my 34 week scan they've signed me off as low risk as there have been no signs of bleeding for ages and baby is growing on schedule!
It's been a super long process for me but baby is healthy and most SCH will resolve! There is a Facebook group called Subchorionic Haematoma Support Group that I've found super helpful for asking questions etc..
My advice would be take it as easy as you can, no lifting and pelvic rest if you can just to be safe xx

I had one they found at 6 weeks by 5 months it was gone thankfully and had a healthy baby boy full term

I had one early on also. Went back they never said anything about it to me again... so idk I'm assuming mine healed on its own also

I had one at 11 weeks too. Woke up in the morning and was bleeding. Went for a scan and they said I just needed to take it easy. Had about 2 weeks of bleeding then it just went away on it’s own. We had a full term baby girl born exactly on her due date.

I had a massive bleed at 14 weeks where we thought I was having a miscarriage. We found out I had a 5cm Subchronic heomatoma and I got told to come back in 2 weeks time for another scan to see if it was healing.
I went back at about 16.5 weeks and it had gone to 6cm (but luckily I hadn't had any more bleeding since the bleed at 14 weeks) I was gutted that it had got bigger and hadn't started to heal. I got told they would check me again at my 20 week scan and go from there.
Luckily when I went for my 20 week scan, it had started to heal and was just over 3 cm, so was literally half the size. I've been told that mine is in the most awkward place to heal, so it may not be fully gone for a very long time. But thankfully they are no longer worried about it because it's started to heal and is at a much smaller size now.

I know its scary, I spent weeks terrified about it, but i got told most of the time they normally heal without any complications. I'll keep everything crossed for you 🤞 xXx

I'm 30 weeks. At 5.5 weeks I had a massive traumatic bleed due to my subchorionic hematoma. I honestly stuck to resting as much as I could, and the rest of the blood that could be seen, eventually went away. My obgyn said your body can just absorb and heal it and mine did. It was the fucking most traumatic shit ever, and I still have anxiety in the bathroom. But my subchorionic went away and baby is strong and measuring perfectly at 30 weeks!!

I had at the beginning of my pregnancy it went away on its own you’ll be ok just pray stay positive

I am on my second one right now at 14 weeks and 3 days.

What ended up happening are you okay?

This post and comments are so comforting esp. since I am a first time mama & just found out I have SCH 🥺 This definitely gave me some hope and relieved some of my anxiety!

Avatar

I have a SCH too, I had a massive bleed a couple weeks ago and went to the hospital they ultrasound showed baby was doing really well. I've continued to have some spotting, seems like it goes away for a week and then comes back. It's so nerve wracking!!

Avatar

I was diagnosed with a large heamatoma at 7 weeks, it was the same size as the sac and it has cause 4 very heavy bleeds so far (plus weeks of light period like bleeding) baby is doing well at the moment though x

Avatar

I was diagnosed with a pretty big one two weeks ago at a little over 7 weeks. I just had a bit of bleeding today but it's brown, which makes me think it's healing (I'm clearly not a doctor 😆). Doc just told me to take it easy and no sex 😭. He said as long as baby is well, it's fine. I appreciate you asking this! I need to hear success stories too because I'm also nervous!

Avatar

What color was everyone's bleed? I had a bright red bleed this morning, 2 hours later it was pink, now some brown discharge. I see the doctor in an hour. But when I called this morning they said it's probably the (small) SCH I had on my ultrasound from 2 weeks ago. So nervous because I'm 14 weeks today and I've never had this happen before. First baby too.

Avatar

I’ve just been diagnosed with SCH wrapping around the sac at 12cm by 3.5cm, I’m 13 weeks, would that be considered large? The sonographer literally told me nothing and was so casual about it and now I’m left not knowing what to do 😩

Avatar

Hi I hope everybody's babies are blessed and healthy. I just found out about my SCH. I was so nervous. I had such a day full of emotions. I spent 8 hours in the ER. The worst experience at a hospital in my whole life. I'm finally home and greatful so greatful. I'm glad there are more moms that went through it and that the baby is good. It's definitely scary. I'll have lots of rest now. And I can only pray for the best.

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
