C-section

Induction vs C Section

Hi ladies, was wondering is anyone thinking about booking in a c section over an induction if they went past 41 weeks? Appreciate people’s thoughts and any past experiences!

Pumping

Mini fridge for pumping mums

Hey! So I’ve been thinking I need to get a mini fridge for next to my bed for when the baby arrives in a few weeks. I’m planning on pumping so I will be up every 2/3 hours pumping, I don’t want to have to go downstairs every time as I will wake my toddler by doing so. I also think it will be handy to get the bottles ready before the night starts and have them in a fridge next to me. Chat GPT is saying I need a mini fridge with adjustable temperature as it needs to be below 4 degrees. But the only affordable mini fridges I can find online do not have adjustable temperatures… Chat GpT has said getting a cool box would be safer than a mini fridge without adjustable temperatures. Has anyone got a mini fridge without an adjustable temperature and managed fine with it? I feel like my chat gpt is being slightly extra. Or should I get a cool box instead😂😂for the love of god someone help me!

Work & money

Anyone else self employed?

I’ve applied for maternity allowance and got my letter through today saying I would get the least amount. However I also got a letter asking me to pay towards the national class 2. I have now done this but just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and if they then got the full amount after paying the cost they asked for. Thank you!

Postpartum symptoms

How long after baby dropped did you go into labor?

Last few days I feel like my baby has dropped, I’m 37 weeks and 5 days. I have a noticeable gap between my boobs and bump, can breathe easier and had some very bad lightening crotch/a lot of Braxton hicks.

I can feel baby a lot lower down and instead of him booting me in the ribs it feels half way down my belly. Anyone else have this and how long after did you go into labour? First time mom, thanks in advance

Breech baby 36 weeks

So I had a scan on Tuesday… I ended up being in the hospital from 2:30-7:30pm with a toddler🤯 They saw that my baby is breech, which really upset me cos of how far along I am, I just have a feeling I’m gonna have to have a c section. I feel so much movement and idk if that’s due to her being breech? Every other time I’ve had a scan she has been head down, it’s so annoying. Apparently her bum is in my pelvis and her legs are stretched out straight? Like a V shape…? The hospital basically sent me away on Tuesday with a few options: I can either let them try and manually turn her, I’ve heard mixed opinions on this so if anyone’s had that done can you please comment your experience! Then they said either that or she will turn on her own, or you will have to have a c section…so it’s obviously ruined all my plans of having a second natural birth…the idea of a c section terrifies me, especially when I have an 18 month old as I’ve heard the recovery is much much worse. I’m also the only one in my house that drives so it’s just stressing me out so much. I’ve got a midwife appointment on Friday, then on the 24th the hospital have asked me to come in so they can use a Doppler to see if she’s moved? Cos they can’t do 2 scans so close together…but will that even be accurate? Cos surely you can hear her heartbeat no matter what position she’s in I just don’t think I’m gonna be able to trust what they say when they haven’t even done a scan to see! I need some advice, about the manual turning of the baby, about the Doppler being used to see her position, basically everything. Please tell me someone has experienced this and can guide me in the right direction cos I’m panicking quite a lot here.

Thank you x
