I’m almost 38 weeks and have had some very achey poster rib/ mid back pain for the last three days. There’s one spot in particular that’s super sort if I press it, almost like it’s bruised….
and baby is generally mostly staying on the LEFT side Now it’s turning into what feels like occasionally muscle spasms . Anyone else experience this ?

I had terrible rib pain from about 30 weeks. I have quite a short torso and baby's head was shoved up there initially, wedged under my right rib. If you Google it there are some stretches you can try and I found a bit of YouTube pregnancy yoga helped a bit. I also used to sleep on a folded towel under my ribs which somehow helped, I think because it stretched them out a bit? Once he turned head down it was better, but he then kicked me in my very sore ribs! It disappears after birth!

Yes I have this exact thing and I actually have been seeing a chiropractor and it has helped so much. I also ice the spot on my back every single night!

I had heartburn and rib pain in and around my sternum for weeks towards the end of my pregnancy. It kept getting worse and worse. It was sore to the touch when I would have an "attack". I thought they were upper diaphragm contractions and my OB kind of agreed and wrote it off as heartburn. Well, 6 weeks postpartum I had another attack and ended up having an emergency surgery to have my gall bladder removed. Apparently it's common for that organ to become inflamed during pregnancy and need removed. Maybe inquire about that!

I had this pain throughout 3rd tri and I saw a chiro and got a massage. Ice helps, but don't use heat. All of this helped the symptoms but it didn't fully go away until after birth. Hang in there.

I had ribs and upper back pain with my first pregnancy and told the midwife and she was also not really worried about it like others have explained that they don’t seem interested when it’s actually excruciating pain. I was only telling her thinking they might offer helpful advice but nothing. Luckily I’m and osteopath and so is my husband so he would treat me using manual therapy. I created a self management plan that I’ll be launching soon to help pregnant mums with these pain that midwifes and doctors don’t seem to care about. I’m also writing books and resources on what you can do for yourself. If anyone is interested follow my Instagram @mood2educate it’ll will be launching next month.
The basic advice I can give you Christy as a therapist is get some treatment from an osteopath or chiropractor, gentle exercise and ice packs

Yes! So painful. Most of the kicks were in my ribs and they're still achey even though she arrived a week ago! X

Go to a physio! They're frickin magic

I had rib pain too, the belly support straps work wonders!

YESSSS. He sits under my rib and it pulls at the joint of the rib and spine and causes muscle spasms in my back. I got a self massager from Amazon. It looks like a big hook and costs $20. It’s a life saver. I was having to get up and rub my back out on the corner of the wall like a dog but ever since I got this I just rub out the spasm for a few seconds and it feels way better. I actually keep it right next to my bed because I usually get pain while laying down.
