Hello. Does anyone know what else is safe to take apart from paracetamol. Suffering so badly. Been checked over for pre eclampsia and told it’s not that. I’ve had this pain in my head for over a week!

Can you speak to your doctor or midwife and see if they’ll give you sumatriptan? I’m a regular migraine sufferer and the only thing that fully takes mine away is sumatriptan and sleep 😞 I have taken it in pregnancy but only once when my migraine got so bad I could barely see xx

Sorry you’re in pain Sarah, I’ve just come out the other end of an episode. Like Keeley-Jade, sumatriptan (and cyclizine) is the only med that takes the edge off but from 18 weeks I was told by my GP that I shouldn’t be taking it. Do speak with your med team about what the cause could be.
I was told it can be brought on as the blood flow increases for the growing baby.
Wish you get well soon.

I was allowed codeine when my migraines were so bad x

I know it won't make a migraine go away but I find the forehead rub you can get in the shops helps a little bit combined with paracetamol and sleep if poss

Thanks all. Going to book in with the dr xx

My dr gave me aspirin to take nightly as I'm allergic to the sumatriptan mentioned above. I combine this with paracetamol for my migraines and it seems to help x

Hey! Migraine sufferer here- used to take sumatriptan and Rizatriptan pre pregnancy but my GP didn’t recommend taking it during pregnancy. Instead he prescribed Dihydrocodeine in a small dose. My midwife said that this was fine to take as well.
Hopefully your Dr can prescribe something similar and it eases the pain.
