Trying reflexology, acupuncture, the lot! Also keen to hear if anyone successfully advocated for home birth at 42 weeks?

they literally cannot make you do anything you don’t want to, they will try and persuade you, explain all the risks, but ultimately, it’s your decision! and what i did, was to ask them to explain the risks on both sides to me - that quickly shut them up!
as it was, i didn’t advocate for a home birth as i couldn’t because i was GBS+ (and needed antibiotics during labour), but did successfully decline an induction at 42 weeks in the hope i’d go into labour spontaneously.. unfortunately i didn’t and accepted an induction in the end but did lots of research and made sure i was making the right choice for me and my baby before accepting anything 💪

I had a failed sweep yesterday at 40+2 as I was told my cervix was at the back of the baby’s head. Which when I googled it meant my cervix was posterior. She told me to get on the exercise ball and do figure of 8, and keep active. Which I’ve been doing all for the past 4 weeks now and still nothing.

I had a failed sweep for the same reason at 39+6 (Monday) due to posterior cervix. It was super painful, which shocked me as she couldn't reach my cervix... anyone else found that?
Midwife booked me in to come back at 40+2 (yesterday) and she first checked babys HR which dipped, so she wouldn't perform the sweep and sent me to hospital to monitor baby at the day unit...
After an hour of monitoring at the day unit the midwives there had no concerns and offered to try the sweep for me, which I accepted. This time, it was still too far back so she couldn't quite reach to do the membrane sweep, but she could feel my cervix was soft, stretchy, and I was 1cm dilated. It was still super painful, AND there was a crazy amount of blood when she removed her hand - it was all dripping down her forearm and her hand was covered, plus a little puddle where I'd been sat 😰
I'm a little traumatised by the whole thing tbh and have decided to decline any further sweeps. Booked for induction at 41+5 too...
