I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour just fine!

Avatar

Yes I did in my last pregnancy.
And this time around I’ve now just failed the 1 hour one again!
So am hoping I’ll have the same outcome for the upcoming 3 hour test. 😬🤞🏼

In both my pregnancies I failed the one-hr and passed the 3-hr. It should be fine. Just try to lay off the sweets til then and maybe do some healthy physical activity. (nothing exhausting; just a little more walking or something.)

I got the exact same score as you for my one hour, failed it at 143. I took my three hour a week later and passed with flying colors! I scored 145, 120, 100 for my three hour ones. I didn't really lay off sweets the day before, I ate normally and they let me sip water while I waited for each blood draw. Just take a deep breath and tackle it, mama! I know it's stressful, I was soooo anxious for mine.

I passed my 1 hour tests but have my 3 hours test in a couple of weeks. I had GD on my first pregnacy. Wondering did anybody not have GD on second child is that common? I actually assumed I would definitely have it again on this pregnacy and was quite shocked I passed the first 2 1 hour tests.

My friend failed the one hour one and passed the three hour!

I failed my 1hr with a 146 but passed my 3hr

Avatar

I failed my hour mine was 169. But I passed my 3 hour test! I was thinking the exact same thing as you and was so nervous but everything came back normal with the 3 hr. My doctor said a lot of women fail the hour but pass the 3 hr. It will be okay! You will pass it!! 😃

Avatar

I failed the 1 hour with a 142 and then failed the 3 hour one too 🙃 as awful as it is.. It's a test that I wouldn't try to "cheat". Eat normally... if you have it then you want it diagnosed so that baby can stay healthy! Don't stress though, I'm sure you'll pass! 🤞

Avatar

I failed both but honestly (at least my experience) it wasn’t that bad! I couldn’t give into my cravings but I just watched what I ate and once baby came I was “normal”. I was thankfully able to manage with diet and never ended up needing any medication except during labor. Fingers crossed you pass but if you fail I promise you’ll get through it!

Avatar

I failed both and was so stressed about in the beginning but I'm starting to like GD diet ;) hopefully ill have an easier time losing baby weight this time!

Avatar

I failed and I just got on a diet and gained 24 lbs only with a twin pregnancy. My twins where 5lbs 4ounces each. It wasn’t so bad just checked my levels 3 times a day and followed the diet

Avatar

I did today

Avatar

With this is how it went with both of my pregnancies. That 3 hour test is rough but doable 👍🏼

Avatar

I failed my 1 hour and passed my 3 hour test!

Avatar

It’s possible to “pass” the 3-hr one if only the 1hr reading is high but all 3 others are low. If you have time to talk to your OB, ask for the 2-hr one, it’s just as accurate and less “painful” than the 3-hr one

Avatar

I failed the one hour but then passed the 3 hour . I would just recommend bringing a snack for when you are done.

Avatar

I failed the 1st and passed the 3rd!

Avatar

Failed the one hour test and passed the 3 hour! I looked it up and only about 15% of people that have to take the three hour test actually fail it because the cut off for failing the one hour is so strict. Knowing that really helped me to not stress so much about it.

Avatar

I failed the 1 hr glucose test and passed the 3hr one (fasting), good luck !!!

Avatar

Yup. Happens a lot. Most women will pass the 3 hour. You barely failed so the chances of passing the 3 hour are pretty good.

Personally, I failed the 1hr with both of my sons and passed the 3hr.

Avatar

Me! I failed the one hour by a few points but passed the three hour. I definitely recommend bringing a phone charger & something to do while you wait!

Avatar

I failed the one hour and then passed the one hour with flying colors. Don’t be scared. It’s very common.

Avatar

I failed the 1 and passed the 3 easily! It isn’t fun deffo bring something to eat after your last lot of blood is drawn you’ll be starving!! You got this!

Avatar

My one hour one was 154 and I passed the 3 hour one :)

Avatar

I failed the 1 hr and passed the 3 hr test

Avatar

I failed the 1-hour at 178 high, but then passed the 3-hour challenge after a week.

Avatar

I failed the first and passed the second!

Avatar

I failed the 1hr (very narrowly) and passed the 3hr test! Just make sure to follow the fasting instructions from your doctor/lab. I’d also suggest bringing a book or something to keep you entertained between draws, and a substantial snack for after you’re done since you might feel a bit queasy and will probably be quite hungry. Good luck!

Avatar

I failed the first one at 142. Passed the 3 hour test!

Avatar

Yup 3 out of 4 pregnancies.

Avatar

Yes. Me! Oh and eat right after and HYDRATE, HYDRATE, HYDRATE! The 3 hours gave me SUCH a hangover.

Avatar

At 135 I failed the one hour test. Took the 3 hour test with my first and passed.

Avatar

I failed the one passed the three hour. The three hour made me so sick. Felt like I had a nasty hangover.

Avatar

I failed my 1 hr test just last week and am getting booked for the bigger test. But...mine is only 2 hrs...? Not 3 hrs. Is that weird? Lol 🤷🏼‍♀️

Avatar

I failed the first one with my second pregnancy I don’t remember what it was for my second test but they wanted me to do a third but she came before they talked about it and I’m pregnant now waiting to do the second test cuz it was high in my first

Avatar

Yep me!! Getting your blood drawn so often is the worst part

Avatar

Yep 2 out of the 3 pregnancies usually when I was pregnant with girls idk why my body is weird I guess. But anyway I passed the 3 hour glucose test both times I needed to take it it kinda sucks though because where I went to get it done I couldn’t leave for the 3 hours

Avatar

I had to take the glucose 3 times this pregnancy. The first one was a 1 hour fail. The second was a 3 hour pass. And the third I took weeks later around 28 weeks which was a 3 hour fail. So yeah. It's totally possible to fail a 1 and pass a 3.

Avatar

Yes, 1 hour fail at 147 and 3 hour passed at all intervals. I threw up after the 1 hour test but was fine during the second one. Do whatever you can to keep yourself hydrated in the days leading up to either test because that can throw results off.

Avatar

Oh brilliant thanks so much for all the advice have the 3hour test on the 13th of October I'll let yous know how I get on.

Avatar

Just had mine and not sure they didn’t tell me if I passed but I did 3 blood test each hour

Avatar

I failed my one hour and passed the 3 hour !!

Avatar

Yes twice for me!!

Avatar

yeah, I failed the 1 hour one and passed the 3 hour one. Just go in for it, if gestational diabetes happens you'd want to know about it

Avatar

I'm defo going in for it. Juts because I had GD on my previous pregnancy I was convinced I would get it in second so didn't even think it was a option that I might not have it

Avatar

Me

Yes

I also failed the one hour and passed the three hour. Make sure you fast before the three hour test and drink lots of water. I also recommend bring a book to read or device to watch shows on while you wait during the three hour test.

Peace of mind please

I shot up at 4am last night and had the urge to check my little boy who sleeps in a cot next to our bed.
For the first time he has rolled over and was sleeping on his stomach, my heart dropped.
I was so scared that I picked him up to make sure he was okay and he was just sound asleep…

What are we supposed to do if they roll over in their sleep?! He’s almost 6 months old and I’m prettified of him rolling and it being a different outcome if I don’t wake up..

Just need some peace of mind that this is
okay?

Baby slept all night

Sorry, I just need to post this... my little boy is 12w5d and he slept through from 9:30-6am, woke for a feed and went back to sleep until 8:30!!! I can't believe it. I was obviously up every few hours checking on him and making sure he was ok, so I didn't get a full nights sleep 🤣 but I'm so pleased for him! 🎉🥳 (not a brag btw, I'm just so pleased and wanted to share)

🥲

Do any mums who breastfeed and co-sleep — especially once baby doesn’t really need night feeds — ever let their baby cry for a bit in the pram to fall asleep, just so you can have a few minutes to yourself?
A friend suggested this to me, but honestly it breaks my heart. I tried it once and it did work, but I’m not sure I could do it all the time. She’s a childcare teacher and said with sleep training you sometimes let them cry for up to 30 minutes… but I don’t know how people do it.
She also mentioned that a lot of mums here on the Gold Coast, Australia do it during the day when their baby’s tired — letting them fall asleep in the pram so they can have a coffee or catch up with friends without having to rush home for a nap.
I just feel like it might not be good for their nervous system and it doesn’t sit right with me… but then again, I’m also a first-time mum.

Car seat

This car seat says 0-14 months. We bought it when my baby was around 5/6 months when he grew out of the old one and the lady who sold it to us in smyths toy shop said it can be used up until 4 I believe but why does the sticker on it say 0-14 months then? Does anyone e else have this seat the joie 360 spin?

Would you consider a baby not talking at the age of 1 a developmental delay?

Based off a recent post, someone said that a child that doesn’t speak at the age of 1 is developmentally delayed.

Do you agree?

How often and how much do your 5 week olds feed? (Formula)

I suspect he’s taking in much less than others’ babies in this group. I understand every baby is different but mine wakes every 1.5 hours at night..
