Dummies

What’s everyone’s views on dummies? Are you planning to use them and if so at what age ? I am breastfeeding and my midwife said to avoid them as it might effect feeding but baby is feeding really well now and he has now found his thumb to suck for comfort ! I would prefer him to use a sterilised dummy than his hands that might carry germs but he is only 3.5 weeks not sure if it’s too early ?

I breastfed my first and and am now breastfeeding my second, and I have used dummies for both. It never affected my firsts feeding and I still breastfeed her now, also my newborn has been doing well so far with feeding. 😊

I used a dummy with my first in the first few hours he was born, he was exclusively breastfed and it never interfered! We used mam dummies x

Also used dummies from a few weeks old with my first, she didn’t take it for a while, I tried a few different ones when she finally accepted one. A midwife literally told me off at the hospital saying I will miss hunger cues and put a dummy in instead, but honestly…
For us it was a godsend, she’s 17mo now, and mostly uses it to fall asleep.

Thanks all I feel a lot better now I’m using one ❤️

My girls nearly 3 weeks old! Only thing that’s been settling her the last few nights is a dummy! Life saver

My baby’s 1 month old and is breastfed and she has had the Tommee Tippee ultra light stay put dummies since birth. Glow in the dark ones are a must for night time!

I’ve had the exact same question Abi! Really useful answers 🥰

Breastfed my first and she didn’t accept a dummy. Currently breastfeeding 3 week old and using mam dummies. My newborn’s temperament is less chilled than our first so it’s been handy for calming during nappy changes etc. and it hasn’t affected feeding at all x

Personally i dont use a dummy!
Didnt with my first snd haven't this tjme either! Harder at times to settle them as they can be good to settled/pacify a baby, but i wanted to save myself the heartache taking it away down the line...

i also find nothing worse than seeing toddler with a dummy still - i know thats a bit judgy but yeah just something i never would give mine! 🙈X

I’m breastfeeding and use a dummy for when he wants breast for comfort to fall asleep. So instead he has the dummy to sooth him instead of hanging off my boob x

shower infront of children

Is it weird to shower infront of your children, or your children see you naked?
At what age should this stop?

I’m just looking at what everyone’s thoughts are as I have a 7 month old and at the moment it’s hard for me to shower without him getting upset.

We contact nap atm, otherwise I'd shower when he sleeps!

It’s easier to bring his play mat into the bathroom whilst I shower so i can at least wash, else i have to wait for my husband to arrive home at 5/6pm.

Keen to see what people's opinions are and how other people do this!

GIRL DADS TAKING DAUGHTER TO BATHROOM IN PUBLIC

If a girl dad needs to take his daughter to the bathroom in public and there are no family bathrooms … I swear video online of a dad saying he uses the women’s bathroom but always knocks and announces ‘girl dad helping my daughter go to the bathroom’ and I love that idea and mens rooms are disgusting but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts
