How big is your hospital bag?

Starting to think of what I need to pack and I wondered how big your hospital bags were?

UCLH in London recommends cases under 15kg in weight, ideally with wheels.

I have a carry on sized case for me and husband and a wee Nike overnight bag for baby. So far 😄

I have a small suitcase for mine & my partners (few baby bits in too) & a pram bag for babies things xx

Just a gym bag for me, and a backpack for baby xx

My bag is huge compared to most if yours!

Haven't packed yet but planning on just taking a small carry on case. My midwife said there is hardly any space in the hospital so not to take a lot or leave stuff in the car and just take it in when needed.

Changing bag for the baby and a small overnight bag for me (you use a lot less than you think!). With my first I was induced so knew I was likely to be in a while, so I had a second bag in the car with duplicates and extras to keep me topped up if I was in for longer, so it was easier for the other half to grab top ups!

Am I the only one that's packed a large suitcase with mine, babies, and dads stuff? 😂. Didn't wanna take 3 bags in

Avatar

Mine was stupid big because I didn’t use 90% of what was in there. I felt like the Internet pressured me to pack a bunch of stuff I never used. All I ever used was our go home outfits and a charger for my phone.

Im using two little small travel suitcases. One for me and one for baby!
With my first I was in for 4 days so I’m not taking any risks forgetting anything. I’d much rather over pack and be prepared for anything!

I have a carry on suitcase….might be worth asking your hospital though as we are limited to one bag for everything 💼 x

Avatar

Mine was literally a suitcase haha! We ended up not using half of it though haha

Avatar

I recommend a suitcase because it's a lot easier than to lug a big bag around

got a cabin case n his nappy bag

The diaper bag. There's gonna be another last minute bag with husbands pillow, pj's and blanket and chargers and such

I took a small carry on case for me and a holdall for baby but genuinely I used very few items lol I left the same day but I found 95% of what I took, I didn't need. Xx

I had my baby girl on 10/15 and packed way too much crap. 🤣 I really only needed a few baby outfits, we went through more than a couple because she peed during diaper changes all over everything. I used a warm fleece sleeper because her body temp was low, a lighter one the next day, a special coming home outfit, a muslin swaddle blanket and a warmer car seat blanket. For myself I brought a few outfits but ended up leaving the hospital in jammies 🤣 I also brought a travel toiletry kit for showering the next day, warm socks, and my pillow and a blanket from home. I packed everything in a carry on sized suitcase. Things I packed and didn't use were the other 2 outfits for myself, flip flops I brought for the shower, the 3 swaddle headband sets I couldn't choose between, and all of her mittens 🤣 make sure you bring a long phone charger and chapstick!

First Midwife Appointment

I had my first midwife appointment yesterday, I've been left full of worry is this normal?

She came to my house, she was so lovely I do feel lucky to have such a good midwife. The meeting was about an hour and a half.

There was so much information to take in I was very overwhelmed!
She went through all the scans testing etc, I never knew there could be so much 'wrong' with a baby. I have now booked an early scan I am freaking out.

I've been googling statistics all morning

Toddler asked how I got pregnant 😂

I’m currently 27 weeks pregnant with my third baby. My oldest daughter, who just turned 3 last December, asked me today how her baby brother got into my belly 😂. She caught me off guard, and I didn’t have a quick answer, so I told her to remind me later so I could explain it to her.I need ideas for what I would tell her.

Random question

I am currently experiencing a bit of stress, as I already have a child at home, my menstrual cycle is overdue by two days, I am suffering from stomach discomfort after consuming food and feeling nauseous throughout the day, have a mild cramps, very fatigue, and I noticed a slight pink discharge while wiping, and the pregnancy test I took today showed a negative result. I am quite confused and could use some advice.

Pressure down there?

Hi recently I've noticed when I'm walking I feel pressure 'down there' specifically my urethra, feels like I need to empty my bladder but I don't. Is this just baby's position? It's so uncomfortable

Baby congestion relief

My baby gets very congested particularly at night time and gets a very blocked nose and starts snorting. I’m looking into getting an air purifier/ humidifier to try and help any recommendations/tips?

Will bring up during my HV appointment next week also!
