Baby shower gifts

My best friend is throwing me a baby shower and guests have asked what I’d like, so I’m trying to make a list. Problem is, I’m a FTM so I don’t know what I need/would be useful 🙈
Any help/suggestions welcome 😊

I've said anything 0-3+ size (not newborn as that's what I've been buying), babies toiletries, gift vouchers for like John Lewis, so I can put it towards a monitor or anything I need thats a biggish item

If you would like something sentimental, we are raising everyone who attends to bring their favourite baby/childhood book and to write their name inside and if they fee comfortable a little message for baby too 😊

Amazon do a baby wish list. Which helps with suggestions and ideas.

I have used the app: My Registry. It's American but you can save all the things you want on it from websites and then give the password to people who are asking about gifts 😊 my friend is getting us a bath thermometer and my nan and grandad the other bath stuff 😊

I’ve only attended two before but I like to take something for mum too. Maybe if you’ve asked for enough baby things ask for something to pamper yourself after the birth 😊

I always get my friends a chill out hamper, including pjs, comfy socks, chocolate, candle, bath bomb etc...

I sometimes get 3-6 months clothes because everyone gets 0-3. Newborn is a bit of a waste of money to be fair!

Hi ladies, how long does it take to recover from a c-section?

Things you wish you’d do before C-Section

I’m having my section on Sunday, and trying to write a bunch of ‘self-care’ type things I want to do before hand.
Now I’m not talking the practical things like setting up changing or feeding stations etc. I’m talking things for you like shaving your legs or dying your eyebrows 😂
I know from my last section that I’m not gunna feel my best so I want to do everything I can to feel good! I’ve got a fresh haircut already!
So what are some things you did / wish you did before your c section?

UK Mums: If you had an assigned midwife for your first pregnancy, but not your 2nd. Were you a bit disappointed?

For my first pregnancy I was blessed with having an assigned midwife that I saw every appointment. She was absolutely amazing, so I guess I was spoiled in that sense. This pregnancy, I see a different midwife every appointment and I am a bit disappointed. Before anyone jumps on my back I know it is not guaranteed to have an assigned midwife. It is just hard when each midwife answered my question differently at each appointment and it took the epilepsy clinic (was referred due to having seizures in the last) to give me the actual answer. I also keep getting told that if I have any general questions to contact MAU, but I always thought they were there for urgent matters? Anyways sorry for rambling, I am just a person that feels at ease with consistency 😭

Stuck on names, I have an Ollie already.

We were set on Hugo but I don’t like any of the shortened nicknames for Hugo and don’t feel it’s as easy to say as Ollie! What do you think?

Heart murmur

Took my 4 month old to the GP yesterday for something unrelated and when checking him over they heard a heart murmur. That didn’t say too much and scheduled another GP appointment for next week. Just wondering if any other mummas babies have had one and what their journeys were/if baby just grew out of it. Thank you x
