I’m 22 weeks pregnant and my son currently weighs 10kg. He’s getting pretty heavy for me to carry but does anyone know if there’s a weight limit for when you are pregnant?

Im honestly not sure, my wee one is just turned 2 im just approaching 20 weeks but finding him quite difficult to lift now 🤦♀️ feeling quite guilty as i dont want to be telling him no if he needs lifted to be comforted or put to bed 🙈🙈 even him sitting on my knee for cuddles is getting quite uncomfortable but im going to continue until its impossible for him to fit 🤣🙈 probably worth speaking to your midwife about this though! I think if we're careful and dont over exert ourselves it should be fine 👍 xx

I’m about to be a single mum so I’m abit worried about it. He’s teething at the moment and becoming quite needy

My son was only 1 year old when I found out I was expecting my daughter and I lifted him throughout the pregnancy with no problems. Carefully of course, and you can always bend down and get cuddles from your knees or lying down. Don’t stress too much xx

There is no weight limit to lifting in pregnancy, some women carry on going to the gym and lifting really heavy weights.
The key is to not lift more than you were used to pre pregnancy and that your body is already conditioned too. Lifting your little boy will be fine.
However if it is causing you any pain etc then seal to your midwife.

I'm high risk. And my doctor only told me not to lift anything above my daughter's weight. At any given point. Even if her weight keeps gaining of course during pregnancy. So right now she weighs 22 pounds. I can't lift anything over that. Basically what ever my daughter's weight is up until I deliver, I can't lift over that. He said it was a good rule of thumb. Because if I can handle my daughter's weight. Then I can handle a few bags of groceries. I stay away from dog food and cat litter bag though

I still lift my 5 year olds when they need me to 🤪 I was always under the impression if you was already doing it it’s no problem it’s only if it’s something your not used to x
