Maternity pads vs Period underwear

I've been using period underwear/washable pads for a while before I was pregnant, but now I'm due in roughly 3 1/2 weeks I'd like to get people's opinions as to what they prefer/if heavy flow period underwear is enough.

If all goes well I'll be in the hospital for 3 days once bub is born. My periods we're quite light before but obviously things are going to be very different as it's been 9 months without one 😅. I now have at least 6 pairs of heavy flow/full coverage period underwear and I'm not sure if it's worth using them, or just going with buying maternity pads or even adult diapers (which I'd rather not do).

Opinions and help are greatly appreciated! 😊

Personally I’d even try the maternity pad in the period undies, I haven’t had a baby yet but I plan on doing this!

I haven't used disposable sanitary products for years, modibodi have been great! I did buy some modibodi overnight/heavy flow and hoping they do the trick once babies are born but have disposable maternity pads and incontinence underwear for the hospital. I'm having babies tomorrow so will test and try and remember to give you an update.

I've used period undies for years too, and also have light periods. I have packed them in my hospital bag, but the issue is they are kind of tight now. I ended up buying 2 more pairs of big heavy flow high wasted ones. I have some pads just in case they do not suffice. I would also rather not use disposables.
I've also got cloth nappies all ready for baby!!

I've used period undies and cup for like 5 years previously but I've decided to go buy disposable maternity pads and underwear just because it'll be only a short period of time where I'm using these and also I've heard post birth bleeding is SUPER heavy and with life will be soooo chaotic after baby I feel that I don't want to worry about if I'm leaking/ need to wash my underwear

I used modibodi undies pre baby. But postpartum bleeding was a bit much for them I thought. I used one pack of Depends for first few days in hospital then maybe a week of maternity pads then switched to my modibodis for the next few weeks. Totally understand- I’m a cloth nappy mum too! My daughter is 2yr3m and I’ve only ever bought 3 packs of disposable nappies in her life!

postpartum underwear (or buy the incontinance underwear from coles)

easy and I found better than pads.

I was recommended the pads (I hate pads with a passion) because the type of blood is thicker and gross and you'll have to change the pad/undies a lot.

The proof underwear is excellent for postpartum flow and aswell as periods!

shower infront of children

Is it weird to shower infront of your children, or your children see you naked?
At what age should this stop?

I’m just looking at what everyone’s thoughts are as I have a 7 month old and at the moment it’s hard for me to shower without him getting upset.

We contact nap atm, otherwise I'd shower when he sleeps!

It’s easier to bring his play mat into the bathroom whilst I shower so i can at least wash, else i have to wait for my husband to arrive home at 5/6pm.

Keen to see what people's opinions are and how other people do this!

GIRL DADS TAKING DAUGHTER TO BATHROOM IN PUBLIC

If a girl dad needs to take his daughter to the bathroom in public and there are no family bathrooms … I swear video online of a dad saying he uses the women’s bathroom but always knocks and announces ‘girl dad helping my daughter go to the bathroom’ and I love that idea and mens rooms are disgusting but wanted to see everyone’s thoughts

Ebf bottle refusal

I want to introduce a bottle so my partner and mum can feed baby every so often but she hates it! Have tried breast milk and formula and am using mam bottles. She also isn’t a fan of dummies. Goal is to give her formula as I hate pumping!

First time using Milton cold water sterliser…

When the 15 mins is up do you just take them out and put them straight back together?
I know it says you can leave them in the solution until use but I don’t want to do that as I have 8 bottles to sterilise and can only fit some at a time.
I have mam bottles but my microwave isn’t tall enough to fit the bigger ones in it to sterilise them🤣 didn’t have this issue with my son as previous microwave was taller🤣

Nursery settle sessions

Anyone started their settle in sessions? Was our second session today scheduled for two hours. Dropped my boy and returned after after 1 hour 45 minutes. The nursery worker, bless her, was rocking him to sleep. They said the baby was crying for 1.5 hours. Not gonna lie that worries me a lot! How are your little ones doing? Have they settled smoothly? FTM here and a very anxious one
