Hi ladies. My 8 month baby has been put off his food since he started teething in the last week. Anyone having a similar issue? He just wants milk and nothing else!

Was going to post about this myself!! Having the same issue, but we’re not wanting as much milk either 🤦♀️ x

I’ve got the opposite 🤦🏻♀️ teething and will eat food but won’t drink any milk

During teething their gums can hurt as they eat solids or drink from a teat.
Purées are easier to take at this stage as they don’t require any chomping. For bottles/breast you can give a bit of ambesol liquid to numb the gums and help them drink.
If it’s just pain/discomfort this should help, lack of appetite it’s a different story and we just need to wait for it to pass x

My little boy has gone off solids and milk too z

Just like us adults can go off our foods when we're feeling under the weather, so can our little ones. The gums swell and are tender to touch just before a tooth breaks through. So anything in your little one's mouth could cause more pain. That said, not all babies lose their appetite when teething. 🎈 Anything your little one can slurp from a spoon with minimal contact with their gums is a good idea. A fruit or vegetable puree, or a soft risotto or macaroni could be just the comfort food they need right now. Chilled foods can take the heat out of those burning gums too & yoghurt. Hope that helps 🎈

I didn’t put two and two together 🤦🏻♀️ my lb would normally do three meals a day but the last two days is totally uninterested and just wants milk. He’s soo dribbly and grouchy today so it makes sense reading your post.

Thanks for your replies and suggestions ladies- it's made me feel a bit better X

Yep, total nightmare on the food!
