Was your baby born at 37 weeks?

Hi all, I'm after a little advice and reassurance really. I was originally scheduled to have baby at 39 weeks on June 10th, but due to a stunt in her growth, I've been told today that I'll be delivering my baby girl this Friday at 37 weeks exactly! It's come as quite a shock, and I'm having steroid injections to help develop her lungs more quickly. But I really want to hear your experiences giving birth at 37 weeks.

Did your little one come out breathing ok? Were they able to stay with you or did they have to go to the nicu/neonatal? I'm really worried and panicking. I'd really appreciate if you could share your experience at 37 weeks. Thank you! ❤️

I was induced at 37 weeks +5 as she was showing really small compared to average I had a normal vaginsl birth and she came out crying perfectly fine and breathing normally. Everything was absolutely fine with her, I never had any steroid injections before either and she didn’t have to go to nicu/neonatal at all. She was also 4.13 pounds when she was born and perfectly fine. Try not to worried as they are professional and will do the absolute best for the health of you and ur baby and safe delivery xx

I had my little girl at 36+4. My waters went and she was still breech so had to have a section. We didn't have time to have the steroids as that would have meant waiting for 3 days for the section which risked and infection as my waters had already gone. She was born a very healthy 6lbs 5oz. Baby doctors were in theatre just incase but thankfully they weren't needed. She was delivered at 1.03pm and was breathing perfectly. Took 3 minutes to cry but only because she was too busy nosing around. We're now nearly 3 weeks old, feeding like a little machine and getting chubbier by the day xx

My LO came at 36+5 after my waters broke. They gave me steroid injections before she came and she came out absolutely fine, a small 5lb 8oz but no need to go to NICU and she stayed with me on the ward the whole time. Only thing was we stayed in a couple more days than we would have done for them to monitor her blood sugar x

I had my little girl at 37+2 after a bleed and contractions starting (had a Caesarian as had 3 previous so natural not an option for me). The steroids were awful (I had 1 lot 3 hours before she was born), but baby was born with an AGPAR score of 9 at birth and 10 10 minutes later! No issues at all with her breathing or feeding x she was a little jaundice but is breastfed so it’s not unusual. She was 6lb 7oz born and dropped to 5lb 15 x

I had my son at 35+4 and his breathing was fine. The only thing he had was jaundice . 😊 he was 6lb 12oz

I was induced at 37 weeks 4 days because my blood pressure was high at my midwife appointment. I had a normal vaginal birth 3 pushes and only took 15 minutes. she came out perfectly fine…I also never had any steroid injections before delivery. She didn’t have to go to nicu/neonatal at all. She was born 6 lbs 1.8 oz when she was as healthy as ever and passed all her test with flying colors.

My little girl was born at 37 weeks. She’s now 3 weeks old and doing well. I didn’t have the steroid injections either. Only thing she’s had to deal with is bad jaundice but this could be anything and we think she wasn’t drinking enough from me not because she was born early thou no one really knows.
Other than that she’s been breathing well and she’s fully developed. She was 6lbs 14oz when born

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
