My birth story

I gave birth this morning via an emergency c-section. I came into the hospital at midnight with painful contractions at 3 cm dilated and they admitted me because I was fully closed a couple days before. They immediately started me on pitocin so my labor could speed back up because it slowed down due to the pain, I got my epidural and let the medicine work it’s magic and in a few hours I was 6 cm dilated but babies heart rate showed signs of distress so after about an hour and a half of trying different methods to regulate his heart rate my OB broke my water and found that he had pooped in the womb which could be the reason he was in distress (it was, turns out he swallowed some). The doctor tried one last method of regulating his heart rate but after 30 minutes of no improvements we decided to rush to do an emergency c-section. It was the scariest thing I’ve ever been through but my baby is so perfect and I am so in love that it was worth it 100 times over in the end. He’s so chubby and hairy and chinky like his daddy. Meet Malakai James, born 10/11/2022 weighing 8lbs 13oz and 21in long!!! Mommy’s big boy💙

it was really traumatic for me just because I felt so helpless and wasn’t mentally prepared for it but I feel like if I would’ve known that it was going to happen ahead of time it wouldn’t have been so bad. Just know you feel everything just not the pain so it’s going to be a lot of pressure and recovery afterwards is very limiting since it’s hard to bend down and move period but hey at least my vagina doesn’t hurt 🤷🏻‍♀️😬 I definitely recommend having someone with you at the hospital the whole time, idk how I would’ve been able to take care of my son without my husband here, he literally did everything except feed him for the first 12 hours while I was waiting for the epidural to wear off and still does most of the moving around

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
