Is getting a Bedside crib worth it?

How long did your babies stay in the bedside crib? Is it best to just get a normal cot?

Lol I had one and he ended up never using it but like twice he's been sleeping with me since his first month 🙃

Mine is still in his at six months. I think a new born might not like how much space is in a cot

Yes its a great thing esp when having a section and you can have the side down to them

Same as @Briony he's still in it and won't be transferring until it gets a little warmer as his room is freezing. Also he's only just getting there with his night time sleeping, they're worth it as less risk of SIDS x

We bought one and she sleeps in it in the corner of our room. Definitely could have just used her crib then moved it to her nursery later. If she sleeps right next to us in the bedside sleeper, we wake each other up at night.

Thank you ladiessss🤍💗

My little one will be 2 months on Saturday and has been sleeping in it since we brought him home. It really is super convenient for night time feeding and to comfort him if he starts to move around or wake up. I don’t have to stand up and grab him, all I have to do is scoop him up or reach over and pat his tush.

If your baby ends up anything like mine, they’ll use it for 4 months and then end up never using a crib even a year later because they sleep in your bed 🥲

Oh no😂😅 @Jessica

Ours slept in the bassinet that came with our stroller until she was about 4 months old. Then we moved her to her crib

My girl was in hers for 6 months

https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8892351 I got this, he used it as his regular cot until we moved him into his room. Has a drop side and bassinet height section, but it can be removed so it's a normal travel cot for later on, so we can use it for years. I got a thicker mattress from mamas and papas which fit as the one it comes with is pants as are most travel cots.

I’ve heard from my sisters that they can be super useful for the first 6 months with night time feeds and baby bonding. It’s also recommended to have baby in the room with you to help prevent SIDS. I got gifted the snuzpod from family and excited to give it a go…. Let’s see..

I had a travel cot that can be also used as a bedside crib best buy the side drops down and had the newborn bit on it too that can come out

When My son was born we used a Moses basket as it was easy enough to move from the bedroom to the living room but around 7/8 weeks I'm sure, maybe even just before that he all of a sudden hated his basket and would not settle in it at all. His cot is in his room and too big to move so we got a travel cot gifted to us to put in our bedroom and he's slept so well in it since ( apart from the odd night here and there where he's a little 💩 🤣) and he's coming up for 5 months old. He won't be going in his proper cot in his own room until summer time, closer to his first birthday as his room is the coldest in the house

We got one and she was in it until she was around 7/8 months until we moved her into her own cot

Our little one has a normal wooden crib not a next to me style and she’s still in that at 4.5 months and plenty of space left so staying in that until she outgrows it then will probably buy a second hand small cot and a new mattress to see us through to a year when we will start her sleeping in her nursery

Good question, wish I didn’t buy a bassinet. We ended up co-sleeping mostly.

I had the tutti bambini cozee air bedside crib after much research. It only lasted her around 6 months or so as she started sitting up but was one of the best things I had for the newborn days. We live in a flat & the crib has wheels (or rocker bars that easily attach) so could move it around room to room so she was with you while she slept & didn’t need to transfer her when going to bed at night!

Mine stayed in hers til 6 months. So I think it was worth it to have her right there

Bedside cribs are a god send, especially the once with the fold down sides. It means you can sleep with your arm next to your baby when they are fussy without the risk of co-sleeping. The sides are also super soft so there are no accidental bumps (especially when your sleep deprived and its dark 🙈)

Typically for safety you’re supposed to stop using once they can roll over… for my girl this was ~4 months old. It was nice having her close- being able to see her if I woke in the night… I was so exhausted I didn’t trust myself to do midnight feeds in bed (too scared I would fall asleep with her in my arms) so I would get up and go to the glider chair in our room. We transitioned to a travel crib like the one pictured above… in hindsight I would just have used that from a he start
