Tips on giving gripe water

I’m struggling to give my baby gripe water with a spoon as it just spills everywhere. I’ve tried to find a dropper that holds 5ml with no such luck. Any suggestions? Want something that we can reuse and sterilise each time

Not used gripe water but for dentinox and calpol I use a small syringe, giving it small bits at a time using my LO dummy in mouth in between giving to encourage swallowing

I am giving with small amount of milk and she is drinking. Without milk she won’t take anything

I use a small bottle with a slow flow teat, that's the only way my little one will take it, otherwise he spits it out.

I use the bottle teat and put it in her mouth and pop the gripe water in the teat as she can have it at her own pace then. When we used syringe or spoon she used to cough alot x

Do you use gripe water pre or post feed guys? :) and have people been using it or a long time or short period? Xxxx

this is what I do too

I try a bit of both. I worry with after that he might bring it up in any sick so I do some before and some during it I can and then maybe some after so the 5mp goes in in little bits x

For medicines I’ve been using the teet from a bottle. Putting it in and she sucks it

I am putting in a bit of milk and give her before feed as she won’t take it different way

this is what I did too x

that’s exactly what I did for gripe water. And we do that for calpol has well now. Then I leave the test in his mouth for a little longer so he can suck on it to get al the meds in him

Avatar

Honestly that method is a life saver she takes it so well, we also did the same with cal pop yesterday when she had her injections x

I use a teat or syringe c

When you guys use a teat do you have them laying on their backs?

Avatar

I would pop it in a bottle teat

I still had those syringes that we were given to collect colostrum before I had baby. Work a treat

Daily bath time?

Are there any mums who are bathing their babies daily? My daughters 7 weeks old and I’m only bathing her 2/3 times a week as recommended by my midwife but I feel it helps soothe her tummy as well as relaxes her before bedtime and I’m wondering if I should add more baths into our routine!

Sleeping at Night

I gave birth on 31st March. FTM struggling, my baby hates being put down, hates the next to me crib. We’ve tried swaddling, sleep bags, white noise, any advice I would be so grateful. I haven’t had much sleep since giving birth so grateful for any tips

Stopping breastfeeding at night?

For EBF babies, how on earth do we start settling them without the boob? My boy is 9 months and wont settle from night wakes unless he has the boob 😫

Sleep

Hi everyone. My baby girl is nearly 7 weeks old and loves to cuddle. This means she really doesn’t like to be put down and whether it’s in her next to me bed, play mat or bouncer chair we only get a maximum of 10-20 mins before she cries. She gets so upset bless her. At night she will go a 1.5-2.5 hours in between feeds if we let her sleep on us. Does anyone have any advice for how we can help her settle in her next to me bed at night for a bit longer? I’m exhausted from a vicious cycle of putting her down, comforting /feeding her after she gets so upset, burping and trying all over again all night. Thank you! ❤️

Bathing

Might be stupid, but oh well 😂...how do you bathe your babies who still topple over when sitting?
We're using angle care bath support even our LB is turning 10 months very soon...we're using it especially after poos as with the amount he poos it's simply easier for us to shower his bottom every single time. One of the sticky legs broke today so we got a collapsible basket as a tryout but he straight away toppled over and hit his head on the back of the basket. 🫣
I got in the past a tip of using an anti-slip mat on the bottom of the bath and simply let him lie in the bath but like this his hair will get wet which is not ideal when we wanna go out straigh away after bath.
I just kinda wonder if there's any other way we could do the bath time besides bath seat (which we have as well) cause it's hard to rinse him properly when he sits in it. Genuinely asking as we shouldn't be using bath support anymore cause he's over weight limit for it. 🫢

HELP! 10 week old only sleeping if held!

My 10 week old baby wants to be held all the time but worse, he would only sleep if being held, for both day and night sleep!
It's always been like that since he was born. We got to a point that he was starting to have some occasional naps and maybe a couple of hours at night time, but it all regressed suddenly a couple of weeks ago and we don't seem to be able to get him down in either his next to me or bassinet.
He hates anything that is not arms, pram, car seat even the carrier, you name it.
I got to a point of being so tired and husband not been able to help due to work that I just started to go along with him for both of us sanity. The thing is I am petrified of what could happen at night time. I have him in my arms but protected/supported with a nursing pillow for him not to fall or get trapped etc but I can't control him bending his head onto his chest with me not being a flat surface.
I've tried all the tricks, warming his bed, blankets, waiting 10/20/30/40 minutes, putting him down super slowly with head last, placing one of my tops in the crib, white noise, swaddling (which he hates as wants arms free), but NOTHING seems to work.
I am desperate and exhausted but mostly worried about the worst that could happen.
I was keeping strong hoping it would resolve itself with time but I hear people still having same issues even past 4 months.
Anyone that can relate or have experience that can tell me how they've managed and what to expect?
At least I'll come to peace having to live with this until I go back to work in 10 months time! :(
