Circumvallate placenta

So at my appointment yesterday they said I had a circumvallate placenta. And now I'm absolutely terrified! Has anyone ever had this? And were you and baby ok? Did you have to have a C Section?

I was just told on Wednesday I have the samething! Also freaking out!

Avatar

@Paige I'm so worried! My Dr doesn't seem to worried but everything I've read online is scary!

Avatar

@Ashley I'm worried too, I go back in 4 weeks. But they have given me like no information

Avatar

@Paige Same! She told me I had it and dismissed me with nothing. So then i Google it and now I'm terrified! I'm going to call the nurses line today and see if i can get some answers

Avatar

@Ashley yeah if you find anything out let me know. I'll do the same for you if I get any more information. Because everything on google is scary

I was told the same with very little information, other that we will do another ultrasound at 30 weeks to check the baby’s growth! I was in contact with a new mom that had the same thing and just had a very healthy baby boy (at 39 weeks). She told me that she did not have any problems during her pregnancy just had to have more US for control. Hope this helps. And try to stay away from google hahah

Hey ladies! Anyone mind sharing their outcomes?! I got diagnosed with a Circumvallate placenta a couple weeks ago. Curious what y’all’s outcomes were? Just trying to get to where baby is viable.🥺😌

Peanut was the only place I could think of to hear peoples real life stories. Google is scary, but it also doesn’t show real life stories.

Avatar

Hey how was your outcome?

Avatar

hey! Not sure who you are addressing by asking, but I thought I’d share my experience with you! I was diagnosed with Circumvallate placenta at 20 weeks and went on to have a healthy pregnancy! Gave birth to a baby boy 12 days ago and he is totally perfect! No complications with the pregnancy or birth. They did two or three extra ultrasounds to make sure his growth was good but that was all they did that was different than a normal pregnancy!

Avatar

that’s amazing congratulations!! I’m due to see a specialist soon to discuss my birth plan so a little nervous.
Was your baby on time?

Avatar

I had a message replied to you but apparently never sent it! Definitely don’t stress about it!! I’ve actually never heard of anyone who has had a negative outcome with a Circumvallate placenta! My baby was actually born on his due date!

Avatar

That is reassuring :) thanks. Hope you and your little one are doing well otherwise!

Avatar

Thanks ladies. Replies are reassuring. I also got diagnosed today at 19 week. Freaked out!

Avatar

I had absolutely no issues. My Dr said a lot of the times it's not even noticeable until delivery. I had zero complications.

Avatar

Hello, I had my baby boy (spontaneous labor at 36 weeks) 7 months ago, he is perfectly healthy and did not have any issues :).

Induction?

Anyone been induced before? Was it more painful? Better than thought? Worse than thought? Worth it? Thoughts?

Induction or c section?

As a last resort, would you rather be induced or have a planned c section?

Really not liking the thought of being induced from people’s experiences I’ve read!

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx
